Postal Office awards $3 BILLION contract for 3,000 electric mail delivery trucks
How much do ya think an electric mail truck should cost, eh?
If biden's Democrats are managing the contract, the answer is: just over ten MILLION dollars each.
If that strikes you as a brother-in-law deal, congratulations.
How it happened: In 2022 the biden regime rammed thru the laughably-misnamed $891 BILLION "Inflation Reduction Act." As part of this obscene, pork-filled piece of shit, the corrupt congress awarded $3 BILLION to the Postal Service, which awarded a contract to a *defense contractor* in Wisconsin to design and build 3,000 electric mail-delivery vehicles.
These are roughly the size of a panel truck or an SUV. Divide $3 BILLION by 3,000 vehicles and you get...a cool million dollars each. So SURELY the reporting (by the Democrat-fellating Washington Post) is "off." I'll keep looking for the missing puzzle part.
Meanwhile, as of this month only 93 of the 3,000 trucks have been delivered.
The contractor--"Oshkosh"--had no experience making electric vehicles. It normally makes vehicles for the military and heavy industry. But with its usual careful analysis, the USPS decided that experience with EVs wasn't needed, nor experience with making lighter vehicles. Cuz...um...reasons.
As of today the company is producing just one postal delivery vehicle a day.
Officials in the Biden administration declined to comment.
