In Minneapolis, son of Dem state rep with long record smashes into a car, killing 5 young women
In Minneapolis last Friday the son of a former state representative was arrested and charged with crashing into a vehicle with five young women inside, killing all five. Police said he ran a red light and was travelling 100 miles per hour as he smashed into the other car.
The crash was caught on surveillance video, which is how the cops were able to get the speed of the rented Cadillac Escalade driven by Derrick John Thompson, 27, as it smashed into the car carrying the five young women.
But don't worry, citizen: the cops and the local DA have rushed to investigate...how the video and the driver's name were leaked to the media! Yep, no need to investigate why shitferbrains was doing 100 mph when he hit the other car. What really matters is..who leaked the video of the crash, eh?
After the crash Thompson fled the scene, but was caught by cops.
As a local TV station drily put it, anyone familiar with Thompson's record might be surprised he was free, because...
Three years earlier Thompson had been convicted of a 2018 hit-and-run in Santa Barbara, Peoples' Republic of California, while he was fleeing from police. Cops pulled him over, but he took off again, losing control and hitting the female victim, who ended up in a coma for several weeks and has life-changing injuries. When Thompson was caught after fleeing the scene, cops found 17 pounds of marijuana and $20,000 in cash in his car.
In 2020 he pled guilty and was sentenced to eight years. But as you already guessed...he only served a fraction of the sentence. As the same TV station drily put it, "It's unclear how long he served before being released."
Readers might have been able to shed light on that interesting mystery, except the fucking liberal TV station doesn't allow any comments on its hardly-able "newz."
"It's unclear how long he served" because the sons of bitches who run California are either incompetent or corrupt. When the U.K. Daily Mail asked the Santa Barbara D.A's office why Thompson--who, let us remind you, was caught with 17 pounds of pot and $20,000 of cash in his car after a hit-and-run and sentenced to 8 years--had been let out of prison early, you may be surprised to learn that those razor-sharp gummint employees refused to give a straight answer.
Instead they bleated that "the state provides wide latitude to award lots of 'custody credits' and opportunities for early parole.”
A representative for that incredibly competent office added “We're real sorry those five young women lost their lives but it's not at all our fault. And if you find a Democrat at the state level let him out, it's not their fault either. Hey, accidents happen.”
They [note: not "he" or "she"--very wokie] continued: "Since Mr. Thompson was sentenced for a violent felony, the law requires him to serve 85% of his sentence, meaning he should have been in prison for 5.5 years. Since he entered prison in 2020 he should have still been there. But of course that's not our job. You'll have to ask the state about that.”
When the Daily Mail reporter asked if the DA's office knew who at the state was in charge of decisions to release violent offenders early, the DA rep said "I don't know, and it's not my problem, so go away. You're not connected, so I don't have to be nice to you."
In Minnesota Thompson has been arrested dozens of times and convicted at least six times. He was sentenced to a year in prison and two years probation for carrying a firearm without a permit in 2014. The next year, he was convicted of a drug-related felony and sentenced to five years probation. In 2017 he was convicted of fleeing a police officer. And in 2018 the Cali hit-and-run.
Gosh, if only we'd had some sort of sign that this guy was thoroughly bad, beyond reform, and needed to be put away for 20 years with no parole. But who could have predicted he'd do this, eh?
Now: Can rational people learn a damn THING from this shit-show?
You bet. Dozens of things. But will they? Not a chance.
