Largest city in Wisconsin--a "Democrat stronghold"--bankrupt. State taxpayers will rescue 'em

Unless you live in Wisconsin or Illinois, you probably don't know anything about Milwaukee--which is fine.  It's the largest city in Wisconsin, and the 31st largest city in the U.S.

The population is 40% black, 32% white.  As the AP coyly puts it, the city is "a Democrat stronghold."

Because of lavish pensions for unionized Democrat city workers and higher school costs, the city has more financial obligations than income.  It's insolvent.  So what happens now?

It should be allowed to go bankrupt (slated for 2025), but because it's "a Democrat stronghold" the Dems don't want that to happen.  So they've guilted the Republican-controlled state legislature into passing a law preventing that.  It involves merely giving the city a few dollars to keep it running.

Wait...maybe we should define "a few:"  That would be...um...carry the one...ah yes: *a Billion dollars.*

For young Americans in "wokie" schools, a "billion" is one-thousand millions.

Sweet, eh?  If my business goes bankrupt, does the State give me money to keep going?  Of course not.  But in Wisconsin, the stupid, stupid Republicans in the legislature will join the Dems to order the state to spend the tax dollars of hardworking people in other parts of the state, who had nothing at all to do with the mismanagement of the Dem stronghold of Milwaukee, to bail out overpaid, unionized city workers in Milwaukee.  Isn't that cool?

The pols who rule Milwaukee have proved they're not willing (or perhaps able) to run their city.  So the legislature orders taxpayers in the rest of the state to bail 'em out.

Democratic Gov. Tony Evers called the bailout a “transformative deal."  Evers and his Democrat allies has bleated that failing to rescue Milwaukee from the threat of bankruptcy “would have devastating consequences for communities in every corner of our state and our state economy as a whole.”  That, of course, is horseshit, just like the scare tactics used by the biden regime to force Americans to get their two-year-olds jabbed.

The truth is that letting that city go bankrupt would have been a hugely valuable lesson for Democrat pols in other Dem-run cities.  Which would be: don't sign deals that spend more than you take in.  But of course the Dems didn't want anyone to see that lesson.  And they managed to scare or guilt or bribe Republicans into going along.

The Associated Press reported that the legislature agreed to spending an additional $1 billion on K-12 schools, quickly adding that the legislature was GOP-controlled.  So SEE, citizen?  This whole thing is the doing of the Republicans!  Do NOT blame Demcrats, as they're not even mentioned in the AP story.

So...what have we learned from this little charade?  Republicans and voters learned...nothing.

Ah, but the Democrats!  They got total confirmation of something they already knew, which is that the Republicans are easy marks--they'll do anything the Dems want to avoid news stories blaming *the Republicans* for failing to bail out yet another Democrat fuck-up.

What this means in practical terms is that corrupt morons like the mayor of Chitcongo, or the fat, corrupt governor of Illinois, don't need to change a thing: they can continue to spend more than they take in, by bribing city workers to keep voting Dem by giving 'em huge pensions and salaries.  Cuz when the day of reckoning comes, the state or feds will dump a billion dollars (or ten) on.  The mayors and governors will get their lifetime pensions, and streets and stadia named after 'em.

Sweet, eh?
