"Systemic racism:" Liberals' explanation for why the welfare state produced the result we see today

 

Beginning about a century ago, U.S. liberals began pushing through a forest of welfare and civil rights programs.  For the paltry sum of a couple of trillion dollars they put blacks into every government office, and ultimately reulted in a half-black Democrat being elected president.  Unfortunately these victories had an unexpected price: the destruction of a few million black families.

Whether that destruction was caused by drugs, or welfare programs that eliminated much of the need to work, or by gangs, by1980 or so it was clear that the great plan of liberal Democrats had problems. In fact, aside from winning the Dems the presidency for 8 years it was hard not to see the effort as a costly failure.

White liberals had to come up with an excuse for that failure.  And to no one's surprise, they did: "systemic racism."
