New program in San Francisco delivers free weed, booze to homeless housed in hotels, cuz, safety

San Francisco's department of pubic health, housing and waste has a new program:  The city is renting hotel rooms for the homeless.

Wait, that's been going on for months now.  The new program is that the city's DPHHW is now delivering free booze, marijuana and tobacco to the folks they're putting up in hotel rooms.

When confronted by an irate band of raacist right-wing anti-government extremists, the director of the DPHHW, Rancida Xochoxotil, responded, "We're only doing this to keep them from having to go out to get their own drugs, since that could infect other residents of the city.  Besides, only a few of our clients are having us deliver things.  And they're all absolutely necessary for the to live normally.

"Besides," she added,"all the hip cities are doing the same thing: Seattle, Stockholm, Zurich, Taos, Austin.  We felt it was important to show solidarity with our clients, to keep them here in San Francisco instead of letting some other city steal them from us."

When one of the deplorables asked her if she thought this was a good use of taxpayer dollars she replied "We're not using any taxpayer dollars for this program.  Well, the city is paying for the hotel rooms, but you're not criticizing that, right?  Cuz we're only doing this for, oh, 300 or so people.  And it's only temporary, until the homeless problem is solved, right?  And the cost of alcohol, weed and cigs is being totally covered by private money."

When asked to name the private organizations funding the drugs, the director said "I think it's Homeless Victims for Free Stuff, or something like that."  When someone pointed out that HVFS was funded from federal funds distributed as part of the Community Development Block Grant program the director shrugged and said "All I know is they told me it wasn't our money, and that was all I needed to hear.  Besides, why you complain about free stuff?  If you got a house, you got too much already."
