San Francisco school board wants to spend $647,000 to destroy a fresco of WHO??

How literally insane are U.S. liberals?  Read on.

In San Francisco--a city with more IV-drug-addicts than students in public high schools--there's a school called George Washington High.

Back in 1938--the depth of the Great Depression--one of FDR's efforts to help the economy was to spend taxpayer dollars to create "art."  And one of those projects was to hire a Russian-born artist to paint a massive, 1,600-square-foot "fresco" (paint on plaster) in Washington High, depicting the life of...wait for it...George Washington.

Last week the leftists who dominate the San Francisco School Board voted to spend $640,000 to...wait for it...hire contractors to destroy the historic work of Depression-era art by painting over the fresco with white paint.

The reason?  According to school board member Mark Sanchez, who voted for the destruction, “This is reparations.”

Board member Allison Collins said “It might be art [but it's] also racist.  It’s not just about removing [the fresco] from public view, it’s also about righting a wrong.”

See, the fresco depicting the life of George Washington includes images of black slaves, and a figure of a dead Native American.

One of the city's leftist newspapers wails that "students should not be subjected to the offensive images."

Ya know, I seem to vatuely recall the hypocritical, moronic Left screaming that "art" should be "controversial" and "thought-provoking."  Evidently what they really meant was that art should challenge conservatives, but clearly NOT high school students.  It's the same "logic" they invoke to order that historic statues be torn down, and streets to be re-named.

BTW, if you wanna learn the REAL reason for destroying the fresco--unequivocal proof that the wailing about figures of slaves and one dead Native American fighter are NOT the real goal here-- some so-called "reporter" should ask the board members why they didn't just hire a local painter to paint over the supposedly-objectionable figures with background tones?  It would cost only a fraction of painting over the whole thing, eh?

But of course the real goal of the leftists who totally dominate the SF school board is NOT to remove the supposedly-objectionable figures, but to destroy all references to Washington, and the great and historic founding of the U.S.

Erase history, and the canvas is nicely blank for whatever bullshit the revisionists want to claim.
