Man who admitted shooting a 7-year-old is released after judge lowers his bond
If you follow current events in this rapidly-worsening society you might recognize one of the characters below.
The only one you'd recognize would be the 7-year-old girl. Which would be because she was fatally shot by the person on the left, 20-year-old Eric Black, jr, of Houston.
The 7-year-old was riding in her mother's car in a Walmart parking lot at 7 a.m. when Black and an accomplice fired 8 shots into their car.
You may well wonder why Black and fellow thug did this. Black told authorities he and his buddy thought the car belonged to a person they'd had an argument with the previous night.
Ah, well there ya go.
One wonders: Were the two thugs so drugged out that they didn't notice that the driver was a woman, or that there were kids in the car?
Hey, don't be askin' stuff like that, citizen. Cuz, reasons.
So...Black was jailed, with bond set at $500,000. But having such a high bond is just not fair, citizen. And sure enough, Black's lawyer got a judge to drastically lower that amount, to $150,000.
And one day later, Black posted bond and walked out of jail.
Which brings us to the last person in the above pic. That's the black female judge who lowered the shooter's bail--judge Nikita V. Harmon.
Now, a keen analyst notes that one would think that since the judge was a female--thus presumably a bit more sympathetic to murdered 7-year-olds--and since the 7-year-old victim was black, the judge might have been somewhat less than willing to reduce the confessed shooter's bond. But one of the hot issues for liberals is that the entire system of "bonding out of jail" is unfair to poor defendants.
And in fact, New York is among several liberal-ruled cities on the verge of eliminating the entire bond system. That doesn't mean everyone would stay in jail until their trial, but the exact opposite: After being booked on charges, everyone would be able to waltz right out again, without having to post any bond at all.
Isn't that cool? And unless the bail companies bribe the judges in those cities, the liberals will get their wish.
But hey, it's not a problem. Cuz liberals assure us defendants who don't have to post a dollar for bail will be careful not to break any laws while they're awaiting trial.
