A very short discussion with a Democrat

Leftist/Democrat:  "America is awful!  The government is a tool of the white Patriarchy, and oppresses anyone who's poor or a person of color, or gay or trans!  It's just awful!

Me:  "Umm...If America is so awful, why do a million foreigners a year keep crossing miles of desert to enter the U.S. illegally?   Seems to me that's absolutely proof that at least the illegals don't think America is--as you so sneeringly put it--"awful."  In fact they must think it's amazingly good--good enough to take huge risks to get here."

Leftist/Democrat:  "That's typical white nationalist nonsense!  They think America's awful!  The only reason they come here is because they know the government will give 'em free medical care, free food, free housing and welfare!"

Me:  "Wait, Democrats been shrieking for years that illegal aliens didn't suck up any taxpayer-funded benefits at ALL.  I think you just shot yourself in the foot."

Leftist/Democrat:  "You're just not sophisticated enough to understand 'nuance.'"
