LA: wokiez set the stage for the disaster

 

In 2022 woke LA Democrat mayor Eric Garcetti and the equally wokie city council (corrupt but woke) pulled off a total coup, appointing a lesbian (on the right, above) as the city's Fire Chief.  And the new chief said her "top priority" would be...NOT expanding preparedness for big fires;  NOT pushing for more hilltop cisterns to fight fires; NOT contracting with aerial tanker companies to be on standby year-round; NOT getting LA's congress-critters to push the biden regime to get the *hundreds* of military helos in the LA area to help with firefighting in an emergency situation, but...wait for it...getting more wimmen firefighters.

Her TOP priority, eh?

A reporter asked the goofy, woke lesbian chief what percentage of female firefighters she'd be satisfied with.  She replied "I'm not interested in numbers, because it's never enough."

Keep that oh-so-reasonable answer in mind as the story continues.

So...one of the first "improvements" the lesbian made was to create a "DEI Bureau," at a huge cost.  The chief then appointed a black lesbian--Kristine Larson--to head that "bureau."

"Bureau," eh?

Then the black female mayor of LA--the communist Karen Bass--cut the budget of the FD by $17.6 million.  But none of those moves reduced the fire department's firefighting ability by one iota.  Really!    

So how have these faaabulous appointees worked out for the residents of LA, eh?

Now, there are lots of jobs that don't require either strength or endurance.  Firefighting isn't one of those jobs.  And while it's not absolutely necessary that a fire chief have carried a 200-pound pyrsyn down a 50-foot fire ladder, you'd think that a good choice for chief would be a "combat veteran," so to speak.

But to the wokiez, it's more important to check the DEI boxes.
