House Republicans have evidence that members of Biden's family got over $10 Million from foreign sources--for *what*?

This morning the House Oversight Committee claimed it has evidence showing the biden family reaped over ten Million dollars from foreign sources.  Since no source of actual work has been shown, the assumption is that the money was paid to influence government decisions.

There's also substantial evidence of financial deception by biden and family.

Money was paid to business associates of the biden family, then transferred to family members, which allowed the "president" to claim he personally never took any foreign money.

Although the president is required to file financial disclosures for himself, members of his family aren't required to file such disclosures, so routing money from family members to the "president" doesn't show up.

Until the GOP won a razor-thin majority in the House, biden was apparently using government resources and personnel to prevent the payments from being discovered.

The committee subpoenaed four different banks and reviewed thousands of records, and claims the Biden family created a web of over 20 companies -- most formed during Biden's vice presidency.

After the House announcement the White House called the claims against Biden "baseless and absurd."

Committee members made several points:

1. Foreign entities sent checks to any of the 20-odd shell companies formed by Hunter or other family members.  Those companies then wrote checks to at least nine members of the family, including wives, brothers and  grandchildren.  The list of recipients:

  • Hunter
  • James Biden
  • Sara Biden
  • Hallie Biden
  • Kathleen Biden
  • Melissa Biden
  • Minor niece or nephew #1
  • Minor niece/nephew #2
  • Minor grandchild

Even if one assumes, for purposes of argument, that Hunter was engaged in a legitimate business with these foreign entities, why would the shell companies write checks to the family members?

What work are the wives, children and grandchildren doing for the foreign entities? No one can say --including the Bidens.

What we do know with certainty is that Biden's granddaughters were not providing services to Romania and China.  Unlike Hunter, the granddaughters aren't highly qualified energy experts.  (For young readers:  that's satire.  Hunter Biden doesn't know anything about the natural gas business.)

Writing various checks to wives and children was a scheme to distribute money without arousing suspicion.

2. When you start a web of 20 sham businesses, unless there's a good reason, that's designed to baffle investigators.

A former prosecutor who's now a member of the Oversight committee said when he'd investigate a family and found shell company after shell company, with money flowing from one company to another for no discernible reason, and money being paid to family members for no business reason, the web of companies was always found to be a way of concealing the source of revenue.

The web makes it much harder to determine  who's getting what, and where all the money is coming from.

3. Biden has repeatedly lied when asked if he or his family members accepted foreign money.

It is now beyond question that Biden's family members were receiving a whole lot of foreign money, and it wasn't just going to the people with a "cover story" about doing business in foreign countries, like Hunter and Biden's brothers. The money was also being received by -- concealed by -- Biden's grandchildren, Hunter's wife and ex-wife, Beau Biden's ex-wife (and Hunter Biden's former mistress), etc.

Every time Joe claimed his family members weren't taking money from foreigners, he was lying.

4. Joe Biden also lied when he claimed all of these shell companies were formed after his time as VP.

Some businesses were formed while he was VP, and even among the ones that were formed after, the groundwork and contact-making for creating them happened while Biden was Vice President.

His claim that all of this happened after his term as Obama's VP ended is another lie.

The White House response, as usual, was to falsely claim that this investigation, with its presentation of a great deal of evidence, is "evidence-free."

Hey Democrats!   Is this what you voted for?

Actually it is.  You were just too gullible to realize it.  Or perhaps the many, many copies of bank wire transfers are photoshopped.

Yeh, dat's it.
