Democrat members of the Texas House flee the state to block a vote on a bill they were sure to lose
After the brazen, obvious, in-your-face theft of the November election, conservatives began discussing what to do to prevent a repeat of the steal in every future election. Pessimists said that as long as the Democrats were willing to cheat in every way to steal elections, we could never win by voting--that no matter how many votes went for the conservative, the Dems would simply fake an extra few thousand.
The only way to stop future steals, said the pessimists (or realists?) was send lots of cautionary warnings via high-velocity lead.
But others claimed that was crazy--that IF ONLY enough conservatives voted, we could win elections.
So herewith, an example of how that works:
Thanks to strong voter support, Republicans in the Texas House of Representatives have managed to win a strong 83-67 majority. So when the Texas state senate passed a bill to make it harder to commit election fraud, it seemed certain to pass in the House...due to the GOP's aforementioned 83-67 majority.
Cuz, "democracy bees gud," right? Majority, and all that, eh?
But when the bill went to the House two days before the end of the session, the Democrats were ready with a cunning plan to overturn any silly notion like "majority vote." So as the session approached the key vote, the Democrats all stood up and...recited the pledge of allegiance.
Nah, just kidding. They stood up and...marched out of the chamber. And because house rules require two-thirds of the members to be present to conduct business, the Dem walkout blocked the vote.
Cool, eh?
The Republican governor of Texas thought this was outrageous, and announced he would call a special session of the legislature to vote on the anti-election-fraud bill. He did, and the day before the special session was to begin, 58 of the 67 House Democrats left the state, heading for D.C. where they'd be guaranteed lots of fawning coverage from the totally Democrat-loving Mainstream Media.
By fleeing the state, the Democrats were again able to block any vote, due to lack of a quorum.
The lesson here is that Democrats only scream their love for "democracy" when they have a majority of votes. When they don't, their actions (fleeing the state to stop votes they know they'd lose) scream "F Democracy!"
And if you're curious, Texas Democrats did the same thing in 2003 to block a vote on redistricting. But of course that was 18 years ago and human memory isn't reliable more than about a year back. And Dems in the Wisconsin legislature did the same thing, fleeing to Chicago to block a vote they knew they'd lose.
I'll bet most of you never heard a word about any of those three highly un-democratic walkouts, eh?
They're THAT determined to cheat to block a bill that would make it harder to steal elections. Wow.
Some conservatives believe Dem walkouts to block votes suggests they WANT a second civil war, but I don't think that's true. I just think they're confident no one on our side will ever take up arms to object to the steals and underhanded tricks.
Wonder if they're right about that?Source.
