Statues of Robert E. Lee, Stonewall Jackson and Lewis & Clark (?) removed in Virginia
In Charlottesville, mayor Nikuyah Walker called an EMERGENCY MEETING of the city council for noon today. And what was the reason for the claimed "emergency"?
Well the first thing of substance on the official agenda was for the council to vote to...suspend the council's own rule REQUIRING that citizens be given a generous FIVE WHOLE HOURS of notice before a council meeting, so citizens could attend and show either support or anger.
With that done--so much for "rules" in today's Dem-ruled nation--they turned to the only substantive item, and the reason for the meeting: To vote on removal of a historic statue that had been in the town square for decades. It depicted the famous explorers Lewis and Clark and their famous native guide, Sacajaweea.
Of course the vote was never in doubt. The fix was in. The vote was just to fool residents of the town into thinking they had some representation on the town council.
Also removed today were statues of General Robert E. Lee and Stonewall Jackson. Replaced in the New American Pantheon by a statue of George Floyd.
