What if our current "elites" were running things in, oh, December of 1941?

Imagine if today's Mainstream Media, and congress, and Donald Trump, were in place when the Japanese navy attacked Pearl Harbor in 1941.  What would have happened?

Mainstream Media:  "America should NOT declare war!  We've always been a raaaacist country, and have oppressed the peace-loving Japanese by imposing harmful trade sanctions, which only hurt ordinary, peace-loving Japanese citizens!  The president should be impeached for abuse of power!"

Congressional Democrats:  "Have you noticed that the Republicans are always getting us into wars?  Cuz they're warmongers, demanding we sacrifice American soldiers and money instead of using our limited resources to give more money to minorities?  Plus, no one asks them how they plan to PAY for the war they're demanding!  Congress must not declare war!  And if this president tries to send military aid to Britain, he should be impeached for abuse of power!"

Every RINO:  "We can't go to war over something so trivial!  We only lost 2,500 Americans, and going to war would kill over 100,000 of our soldiers.  Why do something that would kill far more Americans than died in this trivial attack?  So this is NOT worth going to war over.  Instead we need to form a "blue-ribbon commission" to study the matter.  If that commission says it's worth going to war, then we'll vote on whether to do that."
