Media reporting on new coronavirus is OMG! Compare their reaction to 2009's swine flu
If you rely on the Mainstream Media for your "news" you now know that the coronavirus is the most awful plague to hit the U.S. ever. Like, millions of Americans are gonna die from it!
And of course the media blames Trump for this.
Yep, the new coronavirus would never have been a problem if Trump hadn't been president. Cuz a Democrat prez would have taken care to ensure that the country was prepared for all possible pandemics. Yup yup yup.
See, the entire blame should rest with OrangeManBad. Cuz, reasons. If Obama had still been in office none of this would have happened! For example, way back in February Dem senator Chuck Schumer blasted Trump for imposing a ban on flights from China to the U.S. as being a raaaacist over-reaction to something that wasn't really a threat. But later, after the Democrat party realized the virus offered them a weapon to use against Trump, and started attacking Trump for not doing enough to protect Americans, Schumer quietly deleted his earlier tweet.
Cool, eh? Heads they win, tail you lose.
But wait...a few Americans (who know how to use the internet) looked up a thing called the "swine flu," which hit in 2009. According to the CDC that virus killed between 7,070 and 13,930 Americans between April and November 14th, 2009. The CDC estimates that between about 8,870 and 18,300 2009 H1N1-related deaths occurred between April 2009 and 10 April 2010, with a median estimate of about 12,470 deaths due to that virus.
But strangely, not a single athletic contest in a single sport was cancelled back then. Not a single school closed. There was no panic-buying of sanitizer or toilet paper. Democrat congresswh**es weren't screaming that it was the end of the world. After initially reporting the outbreak, the media seemed fairly unconcerned. Business as usual, folks.
Yet today the Mainstream Media and Dem pols are shrieking that the current virus--which as of this morning had killed less than 50 Americans in the U.S.--is The Worst Thing Evah!! And that it only became dangerous due to Trump's alleged incompetence.
Gosh, what could possibly account for the vast difference in the way the media and Dem pols have treated the two viral threats? It's a mystery, eh? Wait...no it's not.
