President of the EU says they "disapprove" of banning EU residents from travelling to U.S "without consultation".
Did ya know that during WW2 the EU demanded that the U.S. consult with them--and get their approval--before invading the continent on D-day?
No? Well that's because the above is satire. What follows is NOT a spoof, but actually happened:
In a joint statement, EU Council president Charles Michel and European Commission president Ursula von der Leyen insisted that the coronavirus pandemic is a “global crisis, not limited to any continent and it requires cooperation." The pair went on to say
Well I've got a couple of words for Ursula and Charles. The last word is "you." As you're well aware, the U.S. doesn't need permission from you brain-trusts who run the EU--badly--when we decide to do what seems best for our country. Sorry if y'all are offended.
And we agree that cooperation is good when it comes to resolving corona. We promise to share anything our researchers discover, right away. But we don't need to consult with y'all before imposing a travel ban.
See, we've watched in horror as y'all opened your borders to an endless stream of unskilled "immigrants." We were confident that this wouldn't end well for y'all, but of course we couldn't persuade you to stop doing it. How's that worked out for ya, eh?
Oh, and we note that y'all are still allowing immigrants to pour into the EU at the rate of a couple of thousand per week. Are you testing them for diseases, including corona? No?? Wow. Seems a bit...incompetent of ya. But hey, it's your continent, so....

“The European Union disapproves of the fact that the U.S. decision to impose a travel ban was taken unilaterally and without consultation.”So... the presidents of the "EU Council" and the "European Commission" say the EU "disapproves" of the U.S. imposing a travel ban "unilaterally and without consultation," eh?
