Top Democrat presidential candidate says he supports banning carbon-based fuels???
A cunning Democrat pol once said that the winning strategy for Democrats running for president was to "tack hard Left for the primary, then back to the center for the general election."
Cunning, eh? Hypocritical posturing, of course, but cunning--and evidently effective. (He won using it.)
Sure enough, all 23 Dems running for president have been struggling to out-do their rivals in proposing or backing proposals and programs attractive to their hard-Left base.
So can you guess what happens when the candidate widely viewed as the most moderate says "We have to eliminate all fossil fuels"? Sure: all the others instantly realize they need to go at least that far, if not farther left, to win the nomination.
The paste-eating moron in question is Joe Biden. And you probably think that even ol' Joe can't be dumb enough to push for ending fossil fuels. Yeah. Well, take a look:
Now think for a second: Are you really ready to give up commercial air travel? Ready to give up low-cost natural gas heat, and pay three times more for electricity? Ready to accept rolling blackouts when electrical demand exceeds maximum capacity?
(For college-age Americans and those living in wonderful flyover country, a "rolling blackout" is what your electric utility does when demand exceeds supply: They're forced to cut electricity to a few square miles of a city. This usually only happens in big coastal cities on hot summer days. If you live in flyover country you've never experienced one of these, so you don't believe it happens.
But it has, and if the Democrats succeed in banning carbon-based fuels they'll eliminate about two-thirds of our electricity, which will make rolling blackouts an everyday event.)
Some Democrats are fine people, but Democrat politicians are like children: They know nothing about how technical things like electricity production, water service, sewers etc actually happen, instead believing that their decrees make those vital things happen. As a result, they believe they can push things like banning carbon-based fuels with no consequences whatsoever.
And interestingly, in a small way they're absolutely right: There won't BE any adverse consequences for them. The power companies won't kill electricity to their neighborhoods, they'll always be able to fly across the country because they'll write exemptions into the law that let them do that. They'll ride in big, luxurious cars while you have a tiny, efficient one.
But don't complain, citizen, cuz we have to ban carbon fuels (for you, anyway) to save the planet fromGlobal Warming climate change! So DO vote Democrat in 2020, citizen. Cuz it's your duty to support their ban on carbon fuel. After all, why would you need to fly in a jet airliner when you could take one of those wonderful electric trains they're gonna build?
