A cautionary tale about how bureaucrats condemn "Islamophobia" worse than attacks by Muslims

Justice?  One set of laws that everyone must obey?

Sorry, citizen, that's an archaic concept.  The new principle is, your betters in the government will give Muslims absurdly lenient treatment for crimes you'd be jailed for right away.  And anyone who complains is jailed for "abuse of human rights."

In Ontario, Canada, in March of 2016 a Muslim named Ayanle Hassan Ali went to a recruiting center and stabbed three Canadian soldiers, claiming "Allah told me to come here and kill people."  If that sounds like the ravings of a schizophrenic, note that the Koran repeatedly commands Muslims to kill unbelievers "wherever you find them” (2:191, 4:89, cf. 9:5) and “strike the necks” of non-Muslims (8:12, 47:4).

He was acquitted of all charges, on the grounds that he was "mentally ill."  The judge's actual ruling was that while Ali was indeed motivated by "extremist beliefs," they were merely "linked to his mental illness," and that he wasn’t acting on behalf of any terror group.

"Ah, well, as long as you weren't acting on behalf of a group, then, no problem, mate."

In at least a nod to reason he was held in a psych ward and evaluated weekly.  He has never expressed any remorse for the stabbing attack, and in fact wrote in his diary "I have a green light to kill."

Of course comments from every single government official indicated that their real concern was that no one get upset at the Muslim attacker's actions.  Can't have that, cuz we don't want any of that awful "Islamophobia" stuff.

Last year the Ontario Review Board (the highest court in the province) stunned many residents by RULING that even though Ali was still schizophrenic, he could attend college across the street from his Hamilton psychiatric hospital.  Government attorneys immediately appealed the ruling.

In mid-July the Toronto Sun reported that efforts to have Ali attend that college “have now been scuttled”--but not because the college or courts considered him dangerous.  Instead, Ali’s psychiatrist, Dr. Gary Chaimowitz, claimed that "unflattering media coverage caused him to worry that Ali himself might be in danger from another student.”

So last Wednesday the high court struck a heroic blow against “Islamophobia,” RULING that even though Ali remained a "significant threat to the public,” he was “now eligible for extensive forays into the community."...meaning he could go up to 30 miles from his treatment facility to go to college or work.

Of course, his safety is paramount.  For the courts to be concerned about the safety of any Canadian college student or others who might encounter this jihadi would be “Islamophobic.”

Given the fact that Ali’s views have not changed, why is allowing him to roam free even being contemplated?
One thing is certain: if Ali does try to kill people for Allah again, not one of those responsible for the utterly insane decision to let him roam about freely will be held accountable for endangering their reckless, insane decision to endanger Canadian citizens.
Of course liberals counter "That happened in Canada, not here.  We have a much better, more rational system that would never allow this to happen!"

Really?  And here I thought a dozen big, Democrat-ruled states had declared themselves "sanctuary states" and refused even to cooperate with federal agents to deport illegal aliens who had committed serious crimes here (other than illegally entering the U.S.)  In fact, CNN and other media outlets have fawningly reported on illegals who later went on to murder actual American citizens.

Nah, that's just un-possible, citizen.  Cuz, like, we have a far better system here, right?
