You have the right to peaceably assemble--unless the Left doesn't want you to

This is how fast it's spiraling down:

In the Peoples' Republic of Portland Saturday, a group called "Patriot Prayer" had a "permit to demonstrate."

When that band of violent thugs calling themselves--amusingly and cunningly--"antifascists" learned about this--from the permit--they showed up to oppose the Patriot Prayer demonstration.  Which, you may recall, had applied for and received a "permit."  Yay!

We'll let the leftist rag The Oregonian take it from there:
Anti-fascist counter-demonstrators immediately began lobbing eggs, half-empty water bottles, and firecrackers at the conservative marchers, prompting federal police to fire paintballs filled with pepper-spray into the crowd.
"Antifa managed to strike only four people in their assault, but their projectiles began what police called a “riot.” The police were then forced to revoke the Patriot Prayer group’s permit and dissolve the demonstration.
First, notice how predictably the Oregonian described the violent fascists of Antifa as "Anti-fascist."  Worked exactly as the original communist planners hoped, eh?  Cuz, like, how could anyone support fascism, eh?  So by extension, a group dubbed as "anti-fascist" must be on the side of God, right?

Next, look for any reports of Patriot Prayer throwing projectiles at the thugs.  You won't find any mention.  Eh, prolly got accidentally deleted from the story cuz of a computer glitch.  Yeh, dat's it.

Finally, did you note how the cops--working for the leftist city government of Portland--responded to the attack by antifa?  Why, they were totally forced to revoke Patriot Prayer's permit, and "dissolve" the demonstration.

Um...how the hell does a city "revoke" a permit of a demonstration already underway--with a permit?

Too complicated for you to understand, citizen.

Also, if you're of reasonable intelligence you may be curious as to why the cops didn't "revoke" the permit of the Antifa thugs at the same time, eh?

But of course, dear reader, if you've been in the U.S. for a few years you already guessed the answer: that Antifu didn't have a permit.  Cuz why would any city require an "anti-fascist" group to apply for a permit to block...um...fascists, right?

So to summarize:  the good guys got a permit.  The leftist thugs of Antifo didn't like the folks who were gonna demonstrate, so they...stopped it.  With the crucial help of the cops, acting for the city government.

Isn't that cool, citizen?  You thought the first amendment guaranteed all citizens the right to peaceably assemble.  Oooh, sorry--that was SO close!  What the Constitution actually says is Congress can't make any law abridging this right.  And sure enough, no law was made, either by congress or by the city of Portlandia.  So hey, no infringement of the Constitution, right?  And as to the people whose permit was revoked by the cops--totally because they were attacked by Antifi--well, they have the right to sue the members of Antifuc for assault and battery, and violation of their rights.

Of course they have to identify the assailants first.  And...oooh, sorry:  They were all wearing those G-D masks, exactly to prevent being identified.  Isn't that cool?

Thus the "heckler's veto" works again, just as it does on every single college campus in the U.S.  If you have a viewpoint the Left doesn't like, they rally their thugs, threaten and assault, and the university adminishits shut you down.  Because, as the adminishits say, "Hate speech isn't free speech."

Y'know, sooner or later it just may be that enough people are gonna get fed up with not being able to peaceably assemble, or speak in public.  Should be interesting.
