The new Dem platform: Abolish ICE, impeach Trump!

Ideas matter, and some are better than others. 

Democrats have been looking for a few flagship ideas--something as inspiring as "Make America Great Again" but of course nothing so sickeningly patriotic or upbeat or white-supremacist (like "civility" and "math", both of which Dems have called "tools of white supremacy.")

Seriously, some Democrats really said each of those things.

The Dem leadership considered several slogans:

• "Higher taxes make people more equal!"
• "Impeach Trump!" 
• "Make America more like Cuba!"  
• "No borders, no walls!" 
• "Kill everyone who supports the oppressive patriarchy!" (got good response with focus groups but was deemed too long)
• "Save the Earth! Stop using all fossil fuels!"
• "Impeach Trump!"
• "We'll let you keep your guns; we'll tax $10,000 per bullet"
• "To get better government, unionize all federal workers"
• "Workers of the world, unite!"  (great focus-group rating but there was a copyright problem)
• "Abolish the military!  Use that money to give free college to everyone!"
• "No civility to conservatives!  Civility is a tool of white supremacy!"
• "Impeach Trump!!"
• "How would you like your Democrat friends to give you $100,000 every year, citizen.  Free!"

Each of these slogans had lots of Dems pushing it, but no faction had a majority of the votes, so finally Kirsten Gillibrand and Kamala Harris got together and came up with "Abolish ICE!"

All the Dem leaders agreed that this was a sure-fire winner.  Gillibrand and Harris agreed that the only thing the agency did was rip nursing babies from their mothers' arms.  Gillibrand told CNN ICE had “become a deportation force.  You should get rid of it, reimagine it and build something that actually works.”

The two leading Democrat senators agreed that the media was whipping shrieking crowds of Dem voters into a frenzy over the issue of separating children from parents.  They were wary when Trump signed an order ending this, and simply sending the whole family back where they came from, but CNN's Brian Stetler deftly turned that around, screaming that this deprived the border-crossers of due process, which the government was mandated to offer every citizen.

When a Republican pointed out that the entire problem was that the border-crossers weren't American citizens, Stetler yelled that the speaker was a poopy-head and a raaacist.

So with that intro, here's the latest Dem rally for open borders...wait, it's "Abolish ICE!" 

Of course if you abolish the government agency charged with deporting invaders, doesn't that effectively create open borders?  Um...yeah.  Gee, d'ya think that might be the Dems' goal here?


One last thing:  Look at the signs in the pic:  Professionally printed, all same colors, same typeface.  Someone handed those out.to every demonstrator.  Took more than a couple of days of planning.

Always amazing how many bodies the Dems can turn out for an anti-Trump demonstration.
