Canadian officials order Christian school to stop teaching "offensive" scripture
A school board in Canada has ordered a Christian school to stop teaching a Bible verse that implies that homosexuality is wrong. [For the original Canadian report click here: National Post reports.]
The passage at issue states: “Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.”
The government "school division" that demanded the verse be removed from the school’s statement of faith initially asked that the school's mission statement--“quality educational programming”--be changed to delete the word “quality.”
This seems offensive enough, but the school agreed to change the mission statement. But then the government's school division chairwoman told the school that wouldn’t be enough, that it would have to stop teaching the "offensive" scripture entirely. She followed that with a letter explaining the government's position that schools could not teach anything critical of a person’s sexual orientation.
Western governments in both Europe, the UK and Canada have actually jailed citizens for making comments criticizing either gays or Islam. If the Democrats oust Trump I suspecct we'll be seeing that here. After all, a talkshow host on MSNBCrap tried to blame the shooting (and attempted murder) of the Republican baseball players last week on the fact that Steve Scalise voted for the Defense of Marriage Act (as did Hilliary, BTW).
