Saudi Arabian court sentences man to ten years and 600 lashes for website that criticized Muslim religious honchos
Among the many crappy things about Islam is that the mullahs and imams can jail you and order you to be lashed hundreds of times for saying anything they don't like.
Of course if you're an average American you've been told that outrageous things like this are just practiced by a tiny minority of Islamic "extremists," and certainly doesn't represent the majority of respected Islamic thinking (yeah, I realize that's an oxymoron).
Here's an example:
A court in Saudi Arabia just sentenced a guy who authored a website to discuss the role of religion in the Islamic kingdom to 10 years in jail and 1,000 lashes, Saudi media reported on Wednesday. The site had posted articles critical of senior religious figures such as Saudi Arabia's Grand Mufti.
The prosecutor had actually asked for an even harsher penalty: He sought to charge the guy with "apostasy"--i.e. leaving Islam--which carries the death penalty in Saudi Arabia.

Of course if you're a liberal you'll scream that this is bullshit, published by "Faux News." (That is so clever!)
Well I'll confess it's from a source that's known to play fast and loose with the truth: Reuters.
