Tens of thousands of illegals living in "free" fed housing, despite this being illegal

Because the GOP only has a tiny majority in congress, and 20% of supposedly-GOP congresscritters are really Dem plants ("RINOs"), the Repubs always have to compromise to get enough Dems to pass *anything.*

As a result, Democrats ensure that every law congress passes is chock full of opportunities for fraud.

For example: there's a 3000-page fraud sinkhole called the "Housing and Community Development Act."  Among its seemingly endless pages is a provision establishing a program to give "free" housing to low-income Americans.
   But DeepState bureaucrats realized they could get kickbacks by giving "free" housing (i.e. paid for by tax dollars) to illegal aliens and other ineligible foreigners--some of whom have used the scam for decades. 
   This is illegal:  A 1996 law bars public welfare benefits from going to illegal aliens *and requires HUD housing programs to verify immigration status at the point of application.*  

But official HUD rules have systematically refused to do this verification.  One such rule was written 15 years ago under the Obama administration, and tells fed employees not to require anyone 62 or older to verify their eligibility.  That rule has NOT basis in federal law.  

This has been going on for over 30 years.  But the DeepState is so powerful--and can't be fired--that no one has been able to shut down the massive fraud.

That may be changing.  Under new leadership HUD has identified 25,000 deceased tenants still living in taxpayer-funded housing units, and another 6,000 living confirmed ineligible people getting free housing, and another 200,000 whose eligibility has never been verified.

So *by law,* illegals weren't allowed to get "free" (taxpayer-paid) housing.  But in reality tens or hundreds of thousands are getting this.  And have been for decades.  But because no one ever checked eligibility, no one except the DeepState traitors (and the illegals) ever knew.  Wow.
