Obama-appointed leftist judge orders "Alligator Alcatraz" shut down
If the Deep State doesn't like something the president does, they can always find a leftist judge to order that move undone or blocked on some pretext, no matter how insane. And sure enough, leftist judges have blocked every effort to deport illegal alien invaders.
Example: The day Trump and Desantis announced the emergency construction of a detention center for illegals, built next to a 10,500-foot paved runway in the middle of the Everglades, leftists sued. And yesterday (Aug 21) federal judge Kathleen Williams--appointed by Obozo in 2011--ordered the administration to shut down the detention facility in the Florida Everglades--which NBC "Newz" cunningly calls a "migrant center" instead of a facility for detaining "illegal alien invaders"--within 60 days.
She also DECREED that during that time it not be expanded *and that no new detainees be brought in*--which was the goal, and which alone would quickly put it out of business regardless of any other ruling.
The DECREE was based on claims that the government violated the National Environmental Policy Act.
She also ordered that within 60 days the government must remove “all generators, gas [??], sewage, and other waste and waste receptacles installed to support this project.”
She also ordered the removal of all lighting installed for the facility, claiming illegal "light pollution" violated...uhhh...the Light Pollution Act of 1964. Yeh, dat's it! Interfered with nearby astronomical telescopes.
(Just kidding on both those statements.)
See, duh Constitution say "After 1962 no one is allowed to install any lighting over 50 watts wifout written permission from duh EPA." Well maybe duh Constitution don't zackly say dat, but judge Kathleen beez reel smaht, so she know whut duh Founders meant, even if dey jus' din' know how to say it in modern English. See, dey din' know English very well.
The cutesy leftist shitheads at NBC write "It’s unclear how the facility will remain operational if those resources (generators and lighting) are removed." See, dat why duh "reporters" at NBC iz paid duh big bucks, cuz dey kin figger out stuff like dat.
She also DECREED dat duh government must also remove temporary fencing, to allow members of a Native American tribe the same access to the site dey had before the facility was built. As you'll see later, a tribe rep admits the facility is TWO MILES from the nearest tribal land, but duh tribe demanded fencing be removed, an' leftist judges jus' LOVE dat, so...
A spokesperson for DHS noted that the land has already been developed for a decade. (Actually the 10,500-foot paved runway was built almost 50 years ago, but who cares, eh?)
The judge had previously issued a restraining order declaring that building the detention facility had "skirted environmental laws." "Skirted" is the weasel-word used by NBC. Haven't read the DECREE yet but if the government had actually violated environmental laws I suspect duh judge would have said dat, an' NBC would have parroted it.
Next heading from NBC is "A 'major victory'"
The environmental groups that sued celebrated the ruling as “a major victory for Florida’s imperiled wildlife and fragile ecosystems which are threatened by the detention center.”
The groups said the center posed "a threat to the Everglades ecosystem, endangered species, clean water and dark night skies."
The leaders of the Miccosukee tribe praised the ruling.
The tribe's chairman said “We will continue to fight to ensure that the government does not dodge its legal requirements for environmental review on seized public lands, sacred to our people.”
Kinda amusing that NBC--like all Lying Mainstream Media--only supports "sacred" stuff when it's associated wif' a native culture. Otherwise they always sneer at "sacred." Churches in Europe desecrated by "youths"? No big deal. But don't you DARE say a critical word when a native population claims its land or artifacts are "sacred." Context, citizen!
NBC again: "Environmental groups and Native Americans had protested the construction of the site, which is part of the Trump administration’s crackdown on immigration, because..."
Wait, you lying sons of whores at NBC: the Trump admin is cracking down on WHAT? Not "immigration," but... "Illegal immigration." Illegal alien invaders. Get that through your thick skulls.
...because of the Everglades’ delicate and unique ecosystem, which is home to endangered and threatened species.
The lawsuit said that the center was "built without ecological reviews required under the National Environmental Policy Act and without public notice or comment, and that the government failed to comply with other state and federal statutes, including the Endangered Species Act."
The director of water resources for the Miccosukee Tribe told the court the entrance to the jetport where the facility is located is a quarter-mile from the tribe's land.
So you may be surprised to learn that the "jetport" is NOT on the tribe's land. BUT like all Dem-favored groups, the tribe claims dominion over everything nearby, because...reasons: Doze planes will scare off duh animals we hunt! And "Light pollution" could disturb telescopes!
You may also be surprised to learn that way back in the 1970s when the runway was built, the tribes and enviros didn't say a critical word. But when the Democrats and leftists wanted to force a center to detain illegals shut down, suddenly they come out of the woodwork.
The tribes "director of water resources" said the Everglades must be protected from airplanes an' lights an' things cuz “It’s written into the constitution because the Everglades protected our tribe when they were hunted by the government.”
"The Constitution"? You'd think the NBC propagandists would ask her to clarify that statement, but of course it's more powerful if they let voters believe that's in the U.S. Constitution.
The director of water resources admitted that the big runway had been there for nearly two decades, but with “minimal activity." But that changed in July with the quick construction of the detention facility.
The tribe's director of fish and wildlife testified that the airstrip is "a couple of miles from the tribe's sites."
Wait...the "director of water resources" said "about a quarter-mile from tribal lands. The fish official says two miles. Which is it? And again, if the airstrip isn't on tribal land, what privity do they have?
And the payoff pitch: Did the tribe complain about ANY of this when the big runway was built? No, not a word. It only became an issue when Republicans started deporting illegal alien invaders.
Coincidence?
And you'd think native Americans would be really keen on keeping out invaders, eh?
Asked about the impact the detention facility had on hunting on their land, the tribe's fish and wildlife director said members of the tribe are "concerned the wildlife they formerly hunted are no longer in that area.” There’s also "concern that medicinal plants are affected."
The airstrip and detention facilities aren't on your land, so piss off.
