"Ooohh, dat "Artificial Intelligence" is SOooo great! It always know the truth!" Really?

https://arstechnica.com/ai/2024/03/nycs-government-chatbot-is-lying-about-city-laws-and-regulations/

Naive people believe whatever the gummint and Mainstream Media tell 'em, without ever asking a single question.  It's an automatic response for 'em because they naively expect both sources always tell 'em the truth.

Pardon me while I catch my breath from laughing.

SO...for over a year now *both* the regime and the Mainstream Media have been bleating that "artificial intelligence" is duh newest, hottest thing EVAH!  Way hottah den cryptocurrency an' duh covid "vaccine" an' biden's open-borders an' screamin' that "the greatest threat to this nation is white supremacy."

So: because AI has been getting fawning press from the Media for a year, damn near every Democrat and young American--and a few RINOs--believe that whatever "AI" says must be the truth.

Hahahahahaha!

Got a shock for ya, folks: Even the most praised "AI" program was written by...wait for it...humans.  Hard to believe, eh?  And those human programmers write "rules" that a computer uses to decide what outside info to accept and what to ignore.

If you doubt that, ask any of the AI bots "Are trans women really women?" and be prepared for a ton of liberal dodges and rationalizations.

SO...that cesspool of graft and incompetence known as New York City just spent a fortune hiring people to create an AI chat-bot called "MyCity" that purports to have waded through tens of thousands of pages of city "laws" and rules, made by hundreds of agencies, to tell citizens what those myriad laws demand from all citizens.

The "MyCity" chatbot launched as a "pilot" program last October.  The press release touted the site as a way for business owners to "save time and money by instantly providing them with actionable and trusted information from more than 2,000 NYC Business webpages and articles on topics such as compliance with codes and regulations, available business incentives, and best practices to avoid violations and fines."

But two local nonprofit news sites found the MyCity chatbot giving totally wrong information about some basic city rules and policies.  Not gonna bother ya with the details cuz that's not the point.  The point is, AI is no more the arbiter of truth than the folks who programmed its rules.

Older Americans may recall when Wikipedia started getting big, and people started thinking it was the truth about everything?  And of course we now know it's run by leftists and lies constantly.  AI is the same way.

Of course you don't believe that.  I understand.
