U.S. soldier bolts across border between North and South Korea. Biden regime responds
Yesterday an American soldier facing military disciplinary actions fled across the heavily armed border from South Korea into North Korea, U.S. officials said.
Private Travis King had been convicted by a South Korean court of assault and damaging a police car. He was released on July 10 after serving his time. He was supposed to have been sent to Fort Bliss, Texas, on Monday, where he could have faced additional military disciplinary actions and discharge.
According to officials, military personnel took King to the commercial airport (apparently in Seoul), escorting him as far as customs, but were not permitted past that point. But instead of getting on the plane, King managed to leave the airport, change into civilian clothes and make his way to the village of Panmunjom, at the border with North Korea.
There he joined a tour of the village. Then when right at the border, which is lined with guards and often crowded with tourists, he bolted across.
White House sources say the biden administration was gravely concerned when King "willfully and illegally crossed the border," since the president recognizes the importance of secure borders.
But the president is also always greatly concerned about our troops, so has offered North Korea a billion dollars, a million barrels of oil from our Strategic Petroleum Reserve and a million tons of grain for his return. So far there has been no response from North Korea.
