biden regime awards almost a BILLION dollars in *no-bid contracts* to serve illegals

If you're an American under 30 or so, you may never have heard of a "no-bid contract."  Short answer: they're usually indicators of fraud.

The reason is obvious: a no-bid contract means the government doesn't even try to find the best deal for taxpayers.  So if an expert says the cost of providing X should be a million bucks, but the no-bid contract is awarded for three times that amount, usually the senator's or mayor's or president's brother just pocketed two million bucks.

Sometimes the grifter isn't a politician or pol's family member but is an agency head.  But the scam is the same.

Because no-bid contracts are often corrupt, virtually all levels of government have rules prohibiting them. The federal government is no exception.

But I imagine Democrats didn't bat an eye when we learned today that the biden regime has awarded almost a BILLION dollars in no-bid contracts to a Democrat-connected company to house illegal immigrants.

Oh, there's another federal contracting rule the regime ignored: the government is barred from awarding contracts to companies that have unpaid federal taxes.  But the same company that swept up almost a BILLION in no-bid contracts?  It owes almost $600,000 in taxes, but somehow got the contract anyway.

Deployed Resources, a New York-based contractor with extensive ties to the biden regime, got $964 million in federal contracts this year to house illegal immigrants in North Carolina and Texas, despite owing $585,075 in taxes.

Tom Ziemba, an executive at Deployed Resources and president of its sister company, Deployed Services, has contributed more than $34,000 to Democrats, and has consulted for various Democratic groups. His ex-wife, Julie Mason, served as chief of staff for Vice President Kamala Harris’s husband until June 2022--at which time Mason was named executive vice president for communications for her husband's company.

Contracts to Deployed Resources, awarded largely by the Department of Homeland Security (headed by Alejandro Mayorkas) and Department of Health and Human Services (headed by corrupt Dem apparatchik Xavier Becerra) ballooned from $147 million in 2020 to $944 million in 2022. The IRS filed tax liens against the company in October 2022 for unpaid taxes from 2020 and 2021, according to documents obtained by the Washington Free Beacon.

Deployed Resources is not the first Democrat-linked firm to score lucrative contracts from the Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR). A company called Family Endeavors, which hired Biden transition adviser Andrew Lorenzen-Strait in early 2021, received a no-bid $579 million no-bid contract from ORR in March 2021, the Free Beacon reported.

ORR’s budget has quadrupled even as it lost track of more than 100,000 unaccompanied children. Nearly all of the new funding has gone to either Deployed Resources, Family Endeavors, or one other contractor.

Deployed Services has received $335 million in contracts since 2021 to provide "direct care" services at the North Carolina facility operated by Deployed Resources. That includes $261 million in no-bid contracts since last year.

Critics say the contracts were awarded "without proper oversight, even after contract recipients were shown to have problems, including unpaid taxes."

In 2019 the Government Accountability Office found that HHS and four other agencies rarely complied with the regulations regarding contracts for companies with unpaid taxes. Federal contractors are required to disclose whether they have any unpaid debt. Agencies must either deny contracts for tax scofflaws or consider whether they should be suspected.

In 2019 Customs and Border Protection gave Deployed Resources a $12 million contract for a facility to house illegal immigrants in Tornillo, Texas.  The facility was designed to hold 2,500 migrants at a time, but only 68 stayed there on average per day.  The government also paid Deployed Resources for 650,000 meals that were never ordered.

Neither Deployed Resources nor DHS nor HHS responded to numerous requests for comment.

No-bid contracts worth almost a billion dollars.  Wow.

Democrat: "Dis not true!  Dis fake Newz!  Dis not possible!  Dear Leader would nevah allow dis!"

Right.  "Dear Leader" wouldn't take a bribe either, eh?
