Pentagon knew by May of 2020 that covid could NOT have evolved naturally--but hid that knowledge

You have no idea how thoroughly Fauci--and then the corrupt biden regime--have lied and concealed facts to make Americans believe Covid-19 could NOT possibly have been modified in a Chinese lab.

The first case of covid in the U.S. was identified on Jan 29, 2020.  By March half the nation was under lockdown, and researchers were starting to claim the bat coronavirus--normally harmless to humans--had been modified in a lab in Wuhan, China, to make it deadly to humans.  

Just days later--before there had been time to research that claim--Fauci said it wasn't possible, that instead the virus "evolved naturally."

Anyone who'd seen the side-by-side comparison of the gene sequences between the closest matching "natural" bat virus and C19 knew that was a brazen lie.  But only about a hundred Americans had seen that comparison-- and 99 of those knew they'd lose their grants or jobs if they came forward with that knowledge.

Fauci first pushed the idea that covid had evolved totally naturally just two DAYS after the first case arrived in the U.S.--on Feb 1, 2020--during a secret teleconference.  Again, this was just two DAYS after the first case appeared in the U.S.  But we'd known about the mass deaths in Wuhan for a month before that, so Fauci had ample time to prepare this push.

The purpose of the teleconference was to discredit the idea that the virus had been modified in a Chinese lab, and to push the idea that the normally harmless bat virus had evolved "naturally" to make it lethal to humans.  They called that "proximal origin."  During the call Fauci asked several scientists, led by Kristian Andersen of Scripps Research and Robert Garry of Tulane Medical School, to write a paper pushing the theory that the virus became lethal to humans through totally natural mutations.  No China involvement at all.

Although Fauci was the person who asked for the paper to be written, and suggested its main arguments, his role was concealed from the public.  Fauci later gave Andersen and Garry large taxpayer-funded grants.

Andersen's paper on Proximal Origin was accepted for publication in Nature Medicine on March 17, 2020.  It claimed "no laboratory-based scenario is plausible.”  Note the paper went from an idea to being accepted for publication in six weeks--an astonishingly fast track.

The defects in that paper were immediately noticed by reviewers at science journal Nature. This fact only became known late last year from emails obtained via the Freedom of Information Act.

Two months later--May 26, 2020-- researchers at DARPA and the Defense Intelligence Agency wrote a takedown of the "proximal origin" lie.  But that takedown paper remained hidden until five days ago--May 15, 2023--when it was leaked to the public by a group dedicated to exposing the truth about the virus.  Click here to see it.

The paper forensically dismantles the case for a natural origin and concludes, “The arguments that Andersen et al. use to support a natural-origin scenario for SARS-CoV-2 are based not on scientific analysis, but on unwarranted assumptions.”

The existence of this 2020 paper is crucial, as it proves that government officials were well aware in the early months of the pandemic that there was no evidence in support of a natural origin of the COVID-19 virus--meaning Fauci was lying.  And now we know Fauci was trying to deflect blame from China because his own agency had given money to the Wuhan lab precisely to fund the "gain of function" research that produced C19.

It's hugely significant that even though top Pentagon officials would have been aware that Fauci was lying about the origin of the virus, no one said a word to contradict Fauci's lies.

On April 17, 2020, President Trump announced that the COVID-19 virus likely came from the Wuhan Institute of Virology. But on the same day, at a White House press conference Fauci totally dismissed the possibility, citing Andersen's paper as proof.

Fauci also falsely told reporters that he couldn't recall the names of the authors of that paper.  But in fact Fauci not only knew the authors well but had personally asked them to write the paper claiming the virus evolved naturally, and that there was no possibility it was modified in a lab.

After that press conference the media never mentioned the "modified in a lab" theory again except sneeringly.  Andersen's paper became the most-read article on COVID-19 and one of the most cited academic papers ever.  

One of the features of the COVID-19 virus that's never been found in ANY natural bat virus is a gene called a "furin cleavage site."  That gene makes the virus far more infectious to humans.  And again, this site has never been found in any naturally occurring bat coronavirus.

Rational people would conclude that the fact that it had never been observed in natural viruses would suggest it had been inserted in a lab.  But Anderson et al turned this logic on its head, claiming that since this feature was not part of *any known laboratory-generated virus,* it had to have evolved by a “natural evolutionary process.”

The authors of the debunking paper pointed out the obvious: that such an argument assumed that any lab that succeeded in inserting this gene would have published that result.

According to the debunking paper, the authors of "naturally evolved" theory made the same argument for three other genes in COVID-19’s "spike protein," that enabled the virus to bind much more tenaciously to ACE-2 receptors in the human airway, making the virus more lethal.  No natural bat coronavirus has been found with any of these three genes, so again Andersen's paper inverted the logic, claiming that any lab that had succeeded in inserting them would have published their results.

The debunking authors also noted the close collaboration between Ralph Baric of the University of North Carolina--a pioneer in modifying viruses--and Shi Zhengli, the deputy director of the Wuhan Institute of Virology. The authors note that in 2015 Baric and Shi succeeded in inserting a gene into a bat coronavirus, and published a paper on their success.  This experiment showed that the Chinese now had the ability to modify the bat virus.
