Mayor of NYC suddenly decides he no longer wants to be a "sanctuary city"

Mayor Eric Adams is in court today, asking a judge to revisit NYC’s "law" (passed by Democrats on the council) declaring it a sanctuary city.  Adams: “No one thought that they would be dealing with a humanitarian crisis of this proportion.”

Virtually every comment on Twitter roasted the mayor's bullshit:

"His first three words describe every so-called "progressive" policy: "no one thought..."

"What Adams really meant is “no Democrat in NYC ever thought anyone would actually send illegals here.”

"The only people who DIDN'T see this disaster coming were Democrats!  Everyone else knew.

"Not a single politician in New York objected to open borders until Texas brought the border to them.

“No one thought” this would become a problem.  Try again mayor.  All rational Americans knew it would be a problem--and warned the biden regime.  They didn't listen, as we knew they wouldn't.

"Every single policy these people push is always a disaster--foreseeable and preventable if they had an ounce of common sense. This was what the Democrats running NYC said they wanted. Diversity is their strength, they said...

"He was fine to let the biden regime force millions of illegals on Texas and Arizona.  Adams only got concerned after the governor of Texas started busing illegals to NYC.  

"They’re going to find out it doesn’t matter anyway. Now there are far too many.  It’s too late.

"When your wokie virtue signaling and “nobody is illegal" slogans come back to bite you in the ass!

“No (Democrat) thought that they would be dealing with a humanitarian crisis of this proportion.”  There, fixed it for him.  Dems never bother to ask, "If we do this, what will happen?" The consequences of not enforcing immigration laws were always clear to see if they'd had the sense God gave a mollusk.

"Judging by the comments, looks like the Dems and elites in charge of Narratives are hiding.  I scrolled to the bottom and not a single Democrat has bothered to defend their stupidity and that of the biden regime by trying to explaining this cluster.

"New York's Democrats--like those everywhere--were totally for open borders and "sanctuary"--as long as the border states had to provide it.

"You'd think a rational mayor would contact the biden regime and demand that they close the southern border.  But of course no Democrat will do that.

"Has Adams openly demanded that the southern border be closed yet?  Nope.  And he won't.  He was for open borders until it became a problem for HIS city.

"Hypocrite Dems love unlimited illegal invasion--but only as long as the invaders stay in other states!

"You'd think the Democrats who rule NYC council would have thought this through before making a law.  Oh wait, they did: the thinking was "they'll stay in the border states, so we can virtue-signal at no cost to us!"  How'd that finally work out?
