Another clear U.S. law unequivocally broken by the biden regime
You're well-informed on current affairs, right? You follow nationally significant events closely. If you're a Democrat you probably rely on NPR or MSNBC because they're so unbiased, right?
So being informed, you know about the senior IRS supervisory agent who asked congres for whistleblower protection, right?
That's normally a big story, because when a senior government agent decides to become a whistleblower, it's big news because it means he's found something in his agency that's *so* illegal that he's willing to risk his career to expose it.
So what did this guy discover that was worth the risk, eh? You're well-informed, so surely your beloved, trusted "newz" sources told you, right?
If you don't recall, I'll tell you in a minute. But first consider that years ago people realized that a corrupt federal agency might be able to operate lawlessly for many years unless an employee of that agency was both honest enough and courageous enough to reveal the lawlessness.
Whistleblowers were first given official protection in 1778, updated in 1989. That law stated that once congress gave a whistleblower that designation, the employing agency couldn't fire or demote him, or undertake any reprisal whatsoever.
But after this senior IRS supervisory agent blew the whistle and received congressional protection, biden's hand-picked attorney-general Merrick Garland has cunningly retaliated by removing the whistleblower's *entire team* that had been investigating Hunter Biden's failure to declare foreign income and pay taxes on it.
See, by removing *the entire team* Garland can get away with the retaliation by claiming he wasn't retaliating against the whistleblower--cuz he removed the entire team. Clever, eh?
It's merely coincidence that this big shift in resources happened to include everyone on the team that had been investigating biden's failure to declare millions of dollars of illicit income from foreign sources.
Since the target of the investigation is the son of the "preznit," this would normally warrant the appointment of an independent "special counsel," who can't be fired. This is a way to help obtain an honest result, by insulating the prosecutor from political interference--which is what we're seeing right now.
Garland refuses to appoint a special prosecutor in this case *precisely because he wants to be able to de-rail any investigation.* His mission is to protect the biden regime.
This is all impeachable. It would be great to have a law allowing officials like Garland to be imprisoned and stripped of their government pensions. But as long as the senate and White House are in Democrat hands, that won't happen. So things like this will continue forever.
The IRS whistleblower, whose name has not been released, is a decorated supervisory criminal investigative agent who led the team probing the presidential son's tax affairs.
He received whistleblower protection a few weeks ago from congress and the Justice Department's inspector general to disclose evidence he says shows there was political interference in the Hunter Biden tax probe.
According to attorneys for the unnamed agent, he was informed that the team was being removed from the case at the request of the Department of Justice--meaning Garland.
The move stunned members of congress, who were planning to interview him soon. IRS chief Daniel Werfel had assured members that there would be no reprisals against the whistleblower.
Lawyers for the agent noted that federal law prohibits all reprisals against a whistleblower, including "a significant change in duties, responsibilities, or working conditions."
"Hunter Biden isn't a government official and has no connection to any person in power. Thus the IRS has no reason to give his tax situation any special attention. Also, there's no way he could be used as a cutout for transferring money to anyone."
--Merrick Garland
"After painstaking, fair, unbiased investigation we can assure Americans that Hunter Biden has been completely cleared of any wrongdoing." --Mainstream Media
