Politico is screaming that it's awful that the Tennessee legislature expelled two Dems for breaking House rules
As the remaining rational adults in the U.S. begin to realize what crazed monsters the Democrats have become--in pushing open borders, releasing inmates without bail, pushing kids to take cross-sex hormones and amputate perfectly-functioning, God-given body parts, among hundreds of other things--the Left has upped their attacks on anyone who doesn't kiss their ass.
For example: A week ago in Tennessee--where a tranny just murdered six people including three 9-year-old kids--the state legislature passed two bills making it against the law to give kids under 18 sex-change surgery or cross-sex hormones or "puberty blocking drugs"--all of which the Left and Media cunningly call "gender-affirming medical care."
Isn't that precious? One imagines Adolf Hitler thinking "Why couldn't I find people this clever? We could have avoided so much bad PR if we'd just called the death camps 'religious retreat centers.'"
So...After the tranny shot the kids, a mob of screaming trannies swarmed the legislative chambers, furious that police had killed their murderous tranny comrade. But their leaders had cunningly told 'em screaming about that wouldn't help the Movement, so they should scream about...um...the need for more GUN CONTROL laws.
Yeh, dat's it.
Anyway, the screamers were joined by three Democrat state reps, who used a bullhorn to lead chants from the speaker's podium.
After cops finally dispersed the screaming mob, the rest of the legislators invoked a rule that says, in effect, legislators can't lead screaming demonstrations in chambers. Outside the chamber, fine, but not inside. And they "expelled" the three Democrats.
WELL...the Democrats screamed bloody murder.
"Politico" is a left-wing piece of crap website, meaning it's fawned over by the rest of the Mainstream Media. And a leftist at Politico [redundancy alert] wrote a LONG piece about how this was the worst thing EVAH. But in doing so, the author--claiming to be a HUGE defender of democracy--wailed about how AWFUL it was for a state's duly elected representatives to invoke known rules--passed by other duly elected representatives.
Ooohh, dat jus' AWFUL, eh? And that's just the start. Here's Politico's header:
The Tennessee Expulsion Is a Glimpse of the Future
Sub-head: "A legislative supermajority can do what it likes."
Ooohh, dat jus' AWFUL!!!! Well, unless it's a Democrat supermajority, as in California for decades. In which case it's faaaabulous!
By Jeff Greenfield, POS communist rat-bastard
[Politico takes a moment to tell you why you should believe ol' Jeffy: "Jeff Greenfield is a five-time Emmy-winning network television analyst and author." OMG, he won an Emmy! Well he must tell us the truth, right?]
Tennessee Republicans really went there. Despite the outcry, the GOP-controlled state legislature expelled two Democrats Thursday for engaging in a boisterous protest against gun violence.
But the key lesson out of Nashville is not what did or did not happen in the chamber; it’s another reminder of what it means for a legislature to gain a “supermajority” enabling it not only to dominate legislative matters, but to deploy overwhelming power more broadly, even over the other branches of government.
In virtually every state, each house of the legislature is the judge of its members. Members can be reprimanded, censured, fined, stripped of committee assignments or expelled for a wide variety of conduct.
But what if a legislature decides to exercise power just because it can?
Stop right there, Jeffy, you lyin' piece of shit. "Just because they can" is a *very* cunning turn of phrase, designed to make your readers think the three were expelled for *no reason whatsoever!* "Just because they could," eh?
No. They broke well-known rules, and for a change those rules were enforced. You condemn enforcing the rules when it serves you, because it gives you a cudgel to beat your Republican enemies with.
Think I'm kidding? Imagine the roles were reversed. Do you imagine even for a moment that Politico would complain about that?
The case of the two Tennessee Democrats involves neither criminal nor immoral conduct...
...neither of which was ever claimed nor charged...
Still, the legislature has never imposed before so severe a penalty for rules violations, and over the past few years, a number of legislators have kept their posts even after being charged with serious sexual misconduct.<<
OH, you mean like every president taking classified docs with 'em when they left office, but only Trump being charged? You mean like people who merely walked thru the Capitol building for ten minutes being thrown in jail without charges for two years, then sentenced to prison for up to four years...for trespassing? THAT kind of "never imposed so severe a penalty"?
Hey Jeffy: FUCK YOU and the shitty rag that pays you to push this utter propaganda.
And there’s nothing hypothetical about other states where supermajority GOP legislatures have cut deeply into the power of the executive branch once Democrats won those posts.
Wait...Jeffy, you're not bitching about "checks and balances," are ya? Cuz if I recall correctly, that's one of the most brilliant creations of our Founders, to ensure that one branch of the gruberment doesn't run off the rails--like the biden regime. Oh wait, I forgot: your nose is so far up biden's ass you can't see daylight.
In the coming weeks the Nashville battle may well be just a footnote as legislatures exercise their powers over everything from the makeup and reach of the courts to the traditional powers of a governor, to the will of the voters who vote for ballot propositions.
Now THIS is a hoot! Leftist Jeffy is wailing that it jus' AWFUL dat legislatures "exercise their powers over everything"...including "the will of voters who vote for ballot propositions." Jeffy thinks readers will quickly agree with him that "the will of the people" is sacrosanct and must not be overturned. EVAH! Which would be reasonable--if Jeffy was consistent about that bleat. But as you already guessed, he's not.
In California, before the U.S. supreme court jammed gay marriage down our throats, voters passed a "referendum" called "Proposition 8" which stated that marriage was between a man and a woman." Prop 8 passed by a wide margin, but within days was overturned by a single judge--the Chief Justice of the state's supreme court.
Wait...didn't Jeffy jus' say "Duh will of duh pipo shall not be overturned"? Why yes, he did. But in California ONE judge overturned a 55-45 win for Prop 8. Hmmm...
After that lone judge overturned the duly passed Prop8, he quickly retired--and only then did the Media reveal what it had known all along: the chief justice was homosexual. So naturally he overturned Prop8.
But WAIT! Jeffy said "duh will of duh pipo must NOT be overturned," even by elected legislators. Hmmm...
Did Jeffy object to the lone homo Cali judge overturning "duh will of duh pipo" in Prop 8? If he did, I can't find any record of it. So what is this called, class? That's right: "Selective outrage." Which is another term for "hypocrisy."
And what's the lesson they scream at us to learn? That "duh will of duh pipo" CAN be overturned--but only if it benefits the Left.
Simple. Logical, eh? The Founders would have been, like, totally on-board wif dat. It just depends on which side the Jeffies and Politico's support, eh?
Who needs legislatures when a single judge can overturn anything he or she doesn't like? Call this "Democracy 2.0," because it replaces the clunkiness of "old-fashioned" democracy with whatever the Left wants.
Well, at least until the Left suddenly likes a legislative result, or a referendum. Then once again, "duh will of duh pipo must not be overturned!"
Jeffy and Politico don't care that they totally reverse their positions, because they know almost no one will check the internet to catch 'em. And besides, if anyone does catch Jeffy or Politico contradicting an earlier DEMAND, the rest of the Media will ignore it and cover for their comrades.
Welcome to Democrat-world. Do enjoy your stay.
