EU orders European farmers to cut the use of fertilizer--"to fight global warming." But won't that...um...

The ruling class of the European Union has declared that to fight global warming, we must cut food production!

In a world where food is increasingly expensive, if you don't believe anyone could possibly urge cutting food output you've never met an EU ruler.  Cuz that's indeed what they've suggested.

Leftists bleat, "Wait, dey nevah said dat!  Yew makin dat up!"

Okay, follow me here:  The governing body of the EU has ordered member nations to reduce the use of fertilizer--a rule passed by a vote of the member states.  And the governments of the Netherlands and Germany have already imposed limits. 

For those unfamiliar with farming, cutting the amount of fertilizer permitted will--without any question--reduce food output--which is why farmers in the Netherlands have been staging massive tractor protests for the last six months.

So when the Left bleats that the EU didn't literally order FOOD output to be cut, but "merely" ordered that a critical input to food production be drastically cut, to claim "They didn't literally say they wanted to cut food output" is called "quibbling"--like trying to void a contract because an "i" wasn't dotted. 

The EU reps know exactly what their rule will cause.  Or if they're too dumb to listen to the people who actually GROW food, the pols should be fired.

Oh wait...EU reps are appointed, not elected.  Hmmm....can't be fired.  Sweet.
