Mainstream Media reverses course, admits inflation exists--but now claims it's a Good Thing. Seriously.

When a Republican is president, the Mainstream Media wails that inflation is a Bad Thing.  They trot out pics of poor families who suffer most from higher prices.  But with Harris and biden "running things" (ha!), and with what the regime has claimed is "transitory inflation" turning out to be persistent and now at a record high, the Mainstream Media has astonishingly done a total reverse, and now calls inflation a Good Thing.

Seriously.  Two days ago MSNBC posted the twat below (then quickly deleted it because too many people were calling it absurd even for MSNBC):

If you're a college-age American you almost certainly have only a VERY vague idea of what the hell inflation is, and does.  You know it's something about prices rising, but Everyone Knows prices *always* go up.  But what makes that happen, and what do rising prices *do* (other than the obvious of making things more expensive)?

High inflation destroys the incentive for people to save.

Now, if you're a college-age American, the idea of *not* spending money, but putting it aside or investing it, is probably only a theoretical concept.  Most young people spend every dollar they have, and often more.  Believe me, we've all been there.

But as you start earning more, building some sort of financial cushion--i.e. saving or investing--is considered a good thing.  It allows you to survive hard times, like being fired for not taking a non-vaccine vax, or saying you don't think Critical Race Theory should be taught in public schools.

Problem is, if inflation reaches even ten percent per year, everyone realizes that if you postpone a purchase for a year, it'll cost you ten percent more.  So saving money actually COSTS you money, eh?

If that doesn't click, don't worry: it takes awhile for that to sink in.

Now, why would any rational government want high inflation?

That's a great question.  No government should want that, yet the idiots running things often enact policies that *ensure* high inflation.  That hurts savers (as shown above), and average Americans who *don't* have any savings, thru higher prices.

So again, if inflation is bad, why would a rational government enact policies that produce high inflation?

"Wait, didn't you just ask that?"  Yes, but you didn't get it, because it's so blatantly illogical for a government to *enact* such policies that rational adults automatically, unconsciously reject the premise.  You simply don't believe a government would do it.

Now:  All of the above is background for a story the Mainstream Media (MSNBC) published two days ago, titled "How Covid became the unlikely hero of our inflation crisis."

The piece was from an "opinion columnist," which is a cunning way of allowing a Mainstream Media outlet to deny that *they* are pushing an unbelievable, bullshit story that helps the Democrats.  (The MSM loves and supports Democrats.)

Here's how the shill described why inflation is actually good.  Seriously, he wrote this, and MSNBC published it:

"At the same time, any discussion of inflation needs to include the context in which it’s happening. Historically, recessions have left Americans poorer, not better off.  BUT the Covid recession was different. [really?] As people shifted their habits drastically in response to the pandemic, they spent much less and saved more."

"Even though millions of Americans lost their jobs, enhanced unemployment benefits and stimulus payments left many better off, not worse."

Certainly entry-level employees made more money from the (borrowed) "stimulus checks" than they got from minimum-wage jobs.  But what about 40-year-olds whose business was shut down by gruberment decree, eh?  Author ignores him.

Ask your parents if they made more money from being fired or having their business shut down.

"And the stock market, after initially falling, boomed.  The result of all this was that Americans ended 2020 $13.5 trillion richer than they were at the beginning of the year."

Again, ask your parents if they made more money from being fired or  having their business shut down.  Only two groups benefitted:  The very rich, and minimum-wage workers.

"Most of that wealth increase went, of course, to the already wealthy. But lower-income households benefited, too. The JP MorganChase Institute found that the bottom 25 percent of income earners had 50 percent more in their checking accounts in October 2020 than they did a year earlier. So lots of Americans came into 2021 with money in their pockets."

This is FABULOUS, citizens!  Really!  Why remove the lockdowns and let people go back to work when everyone--top to bottom--made more money during the shutdown, eh?  Not just a *little* more, but "the bottome 25% of income earners had 50% MORE in their checking accounts in October of last year than a year earlier!  Why should anyone go back to work when we're better off not working?

"And since then, we’ve seen the sharpest recovery from a recession since World War II, one that’s driven the unemployment rate down to 4.6 percent, and wages up almost 5 percent year-over-year."

Wait, didn't we have 4.6% unemployment under Trump?  Why yes, we did.  And since the lockdown was artificial instead of due to a normal business cycle, it's no surprise that as the Dem governors began lifting the lockdowns in their states, people rushed back to work.  So recovery was as fast as the crash--since the crash was artificial.

Wait...logic problem here:  The author just claimed everyone was way better off because of the lockdowns.  But if everyone was SO MUCH BETTER OFF from the lockdowns, why would so many people be rushing back to work, eh?  Are they too stupid to realize they'll be worse off?

Don't ask the author or any liberal, cuz a lack of logic clearly doesn't concerned them.  The MSNBC piece is clearly propaganda, so they expect you'll just overlook any nonsense.

Here's the MSNBC summary:

Ask your parents if they feel "flush" after the long lockdowns.

But don't think for a moment that the Mainstream Media is simply ignoring #Bidenflation.  Perish the thought!  Instead the Media have covered it...flexibly!  Here's the progression:

1. There is no inflation.

2. Okay, there might possibly be a little inflation, but it's just "transitory."

3. Even if we're seeing significant inflation, and not "transitory," it has nothing whatsoever to do with ANY Democrat/biden/harris policy.  It isn’t Biden’s fault, nor the fault of Democrats in congress.

4. If there's record inflation, it's actually being cause by YOU, citizen, cuz as our economy BOOMS--due of course to brilliant Dem policies, like printing and spending trillions of borrowed dollars--YOU people are rushing to buy more things, like food.  So it's really your fault.

5. Given #4 above, clearly Inflation is actually GOOD cuz it means you're all wealthy!

Coming Soon from MSNBC: "Higher food prices are helping Americans lose weight"
