Words to ponder on this Independence Day
As many citizens celebrate the birth of our emperiled, embattled nation, consider the call to brave men by General Joseph Warren, hero at Bunker Hill:
Our country is in danger, but not to be despaired of. Our enemies are numerous and cunning; but we have a great advantage: our desire to be free, while they merely crave power. If we are steadfast, heaven will help us.
The future of our nation depends on you. You will decide the important question, on which rest the fate of millions. Be brave, and act worthy of yourselves. Your fathers look down from their celestial seats, urging their sons to have courage, helping those who boldly stand forth in the cause of freedom.
Wishing those of you who value freedom a glorious Independence Day.
