U.S. special ops command announced a new "diversity and inclusion officer." No one bothered to vet the guy
"Special Operations" is a division of the military that's responsible for things like capturing Bin Laden. As such, you'd think it would value military competence above all.
And in a world with competent leaders, that would be true. But in the Biden*Harris regime, priorities are...different. Biden*Harris and their handlers have put out the word that the new top priority is...die-versity.
Christopher Maier, the "acting assistant secretary of defense for special operations and low-intensity conflict" (good Lord, how many assistant secretaries do they have, anyway?) made the case for diversity in a Senate Armed Services Committee hearing. “We are all committed to enhancing diversity within the SOF community,” he said. “A more diverse force empowers us to draw upon broader perspectives, different lived experiences, and new ideas.”
The woke generals at special ops command called for emphasizing “interconnectedness of matters relating to culture, ethnicity, class, race, and *gender,” and claimed diversity is an “operational imperative” for forces deployed in covert missions globally. It's really a great strategy, because if you ever need to put firepower on a target, the most important question is, Does the force have the right percentage of gays and trannies?
SO...with much fanfare the woke generals at the U.S. Special Operations Command appointed a new "diversity officer" (actually a civilian but given the title of officer), a guy named Richard Torres-Estrada.
Last Thursday the command posted on Twatter, welcoming Torres-Estrada, saying "We look forward to his contribution in enhancing the capabilities and effectiveness of #SOF through diversity of talent, helping us recruit the best of the best.”
Ah, "the best of the best." Apparently among die-versity snowflakes, this guy was and is apparently the best.
It took internet-savvy folks about ten minutes to find Torres-Estrada's Fakebook page--which showed lots of anti-white, anti-cop, anti-Trump material. The topper was a pic of Trump next to Hitler, in similar poses, Trump holding a Bible and Hitler holding Mein Kampf.
Astonishingly, the guy has now been quietly reassigned. But the dust-up raises a very troubling question: Obviously no one in the entire chain of command did even the most simple checks to vet this nutter. And the question is, why not?
The answer should worry you: No one bothered because the word is out in the military: If you want to be promoted, get on board with die-versity. Don't even think about trying to vet any nominee for a die-versity position, cuz that will get you downgraded on your evaluation report.
Nancy Pelosi promptly blamed Trump for Torres-Estrada's reassignment, and suggested the die-versity guru be given a higher position in the Pentagon.
