More taxpayer $$ lost to fraud in "unemployment relief" than the entire unemployment system paid in 2019 ???

 

State unemployment agencies are terrible stewards of taxpayer dollars even in the best of times. They have no incentive to be careful with taxpayer money, and every incentive to push checks out the door to avoid being criticized.

So when the lockdowns ordered by Democrat governors (dictators) forced businesses to close, throwing tens of millions of Americans out of work, congress responded by pouring billions more taxpayer dollars into state unemployment system, under the label of "Covid relief."

The federal legislation enormously increased weekly payouts and expanded unemployment benefits to many new classes of workers, but failed to impose a single new rule to verify eligibility of people who signed up for this free money.

And I'll bet you'll never guess what happened, eh?

States have paid out an astonishing $36 billion in plandemic unemployment benefits to fraudsters, according to the U.S. Department of Labor (source).  To put this figure in perspective, in 2019 the entire unemployment-benefit system only paid out about $26 billion.

But wait, there's more!  This welfare expansion was just reauthorized in the second major COVID-19 spending package, which Congress passed in mid-December. Sadly, lawmakers didn’t bother to address the runaway fraud that had plagued the first round of COVID relief efforts.

But hey, there is ALMOST NO FRAUD in the "covid relief" benefit expansion, citizen.  Just as there was no fraud in the presidential election.  It's all a scare-story by raaaacist, gun-loving right-wing extremists!

Even the Dem-loving f**ks at USAToday ran a piece about the almost unimaginable level of fraud in the deliberately-unsecure benefit system.  (And when a leftist media organ publishes a piece about fraud in a welfare system, you know it's real, since Dems love welfare and "relief" programs.)  The outfit interviewed one young Nigerian scammer who explained how easy it was to grab money intended for Americans who'd been thrown out of a job by the Democrat lockdowns (though that last part was carefully ignored).  Read it and weep.
