A brief recap of the media-driven propaganda war around the riots in Portland

For almost 3 months now the Lying Mainstream Media has been defending the riots in Portland.  Those riots have broken virtually every window in and around the federal courthouse, vandalized every surface, and rioters have barricaded the doors and then set fires around the building (i.e. attempted murder).

Of course the Antifa/BLM rioters claim the riots are actually "peaceful protests."  And predictably, the Mainstream Media enthusiastically echoes that bullshit.

Now: I want to show you a small example of how deftly the media lies to advance the Left's cause (which, to the surprise of no one, is also the cause of the Democrat party leaders).

When the goofy left-wing mayor of Portland, Ted Wheeler, ordered his city's police not to defend the federal courthouse against the mob, then after about 45 days of attacks by the mob, Trump increased the number of defending officers--mostly ICE and CBP personnel. 

The mainstream media promptly wailed that Trump had sent in "troops," because the media knows that voters (understandably) interpret "troops" as "the military"--an image calculated to make voters recoil in terror.

Taking advantage of the media Narrative, both Wheeler and Oregon's leftist lesbian governor, Kate Brown, eagerly echoed the media lie about federal troops.  Moreover, they absurdly claimed that the riots were being caused by the presence of those "federal troops," and that if Trump would just order the defenders to leave Portland, the attacks on the courthouse would stop.

So Trump pulled the extra personnel out.  The Antifa/BLM mob cheered their victory wildly.

The Lying Mainstream Media also cheered the victory.  On July 31st the lying Washington Post ran this headline:  "Trump ordered federal forces to quell Portland protests, but the chaos ended as soon as they left."  That line clearly leads readers to believe the riots "protests" were indeed caused by the extra defenders.

So did the Washington Post tell the truth?  Did the riots stop?  Well, you haven't seen media coverage, so as far as voters know, they probably did, eh?

Not even close. The riots have continued every night since then.

So let's review:
  1. Media wails that riots were caused solely by Trump sending "troops" to Portland;
  2. Voters believe the media stories, and recoil at the idea of soldiers being used against da po' innocent widdle "peaceful protesters"
  3. Agreeing to demands by mayor and governor, Trump pulls fed agents out.
  4. That withdrawal increases the number of rioters, who understandably believe they're defeating da eeebil OrangeMan and want to increase their pressure.
  5. Media crows that a) the rioters forced trump to cave; and b) that the withdrawal will now end the...well, they can't say riots, but, um..."mostly peaceful protests."
 
So five propaganda wins for the Democrats and the Left--every one of them fueled by the lying media.  Wow.
