When Obama bombed Libya in 2011 Pelosi specifically said he did NOT need to ask congress first

Pelosi and all the rest of her corrupt lackeys have been screaming bloody murder that da eeeebil OrangeManBad didn't get her approval before killing the Iranian terror general.  Pelosi called the act "an assault on Iran."  But for readers under about 30, you need to know that this is a total reversal of her position.

Specifically, way back in the dim, distant past--2011--the Dems' beloved emperor, Obama, and his corrupt secState, Hilliary Clinton, ordered U.S. forces to bomb Libya.  Not just once, but for SIX MONTHS.  And you will be shocked to learn that Obama didn't get permission from congress to do that.

Pelosi didn't scream that this was "an assault on Libya."  Not only that, when madam corrupt speaker Pelosi was specifically asked "Did the president need authorization from congress to bomb Libya, she said he did NOT.

And keep in mind that unlike Iran, Libya's dictator had given up all his nuclear material, and was not killing Americans.  And there were no Americans in Libya who were in danger of being killed or taken hostage.  In fact we had no business there AT ALL.  And yet Obama ordered the USAF to bomb Libya.



Gee, I can't wait for a member of the lying mainstream media to play Pelosi's 2011 statement and asked her what's different NOW that has her screaming about Trump's meanness.  Never happen.

And wait...there's more!

On March 29th, 2011, Obama himself gave a nationally-televised speech defending his decision to bomb Libya--without asking congress--in which he said several interesting things.  Chief among them was that while the crisis in Libya was NOT a threat to the US., it was in America's broader interests to take action.

"It is true that America cannot use our military wherever repression occurs.  And we must always measure our interests against the need for action. But that cannot be an argument for never acting on behalf of what's right.  In Libya we were faced with the prospect of violence on a horrific scale. We had a unique ability to stop that violence."

"When our interests and values are at stake, we have a responsibility to act. That is what happened in Libya over the course of these last six weeks." 

So, no U.S. lives at risk, just Obama's desire to stop Qadaffi--specifically the "prospect of violence"-- was enough justification for Obama to order the bombing Libya.  But since we "had a unique ability to stop that violence..."  Oh, I see.  In that case doesn't the same rationale apply today?  And of course Libya wasn't killing Americans, and was not a nuclear threat.

Obama said that allowing the Libyan leader's forces to enter the rebel-held city of Benghazi would have "stained the conscience of the world", and resulted in a massacre that would have offered a green light to other dictators in the region to commit violence against their peoples.  "As president I refused to wait for the images of slaughter and mass graves before taking action."

So not bombing would have "stained the conscience of the world," eh?  And would have "offered a green light to other dictators...to commit violence against their peoples."  Sounds like a far, far less compelling reason to use U.S. forces than Trump's order to kill an Iranian general directly responsible for killing over 600 American troops.  But of course Libya was different, cuz Obama/Democrat.

He said that the US had overreached in Iraq and "that is not something we can afford to repeat in Libya".

Wait...this lying son of a bitch cited "overrreach in Iraq" as a reason for bombing Libya??  His order to bomb was the first action.  If he'd been even remotely worried about "overreach" he wouldn't have ordered our forces to bomb Libya in the first place!

My, how the media-outrage rules, and the "You need permission from congress" screams change, depending on who's president, eh?
