Ex-FBI employee hacks email of man seeking to publicize sex claim against Robert Mueller. Sentenced to...

Suppose a former FBI employee illegally "accessed" your email account and sent screenshots of the messages to a journalist in an effort to smear you.  Would you find this reasonable--like, "mistakes were made"--or would you be angry?

If you complained, and the former FBI person admitted the deed in court, what would strike you as a reasonable sentence?  When people face life sentences for lying to the FBI, would 7 days in jail and a $500 fine seem reasonable to you?

Apparently federal judges and prosecutors think 7 DAYS is very appropriate, thanks.

A longtime former FBI analyst was sentenced to seven days in jail and a $500 fine Friday for "illegally accessing" a neighbor’s email account in an effort to stop the neighbor from publicizing allegations of sexual misconduct against special counsel (and former director of the FIB) Robert Mueller.

Mark Tolson pleaded guilty in September to a single misdemeanor charge of computer fraud and abuse for illegally accessing Jack Burkman's email to prevent him from publicizing sexual misconduct allegations against Mueller.
Tolson admitted he did this after Burkman announced plans to hold a news conference to air sexual harassment allegations against Mueller.  After snooping through Burkman’s emails, Tolson sent screenshots of the messages and offered the password to an unspecified journalist, court filings say.

Tolson’s wife, Sarah Gilbert Fox, gave Tolson Burkman’s email password, which she had obtained while working for him.

At Tolson’s sentencing Friday morning the longtime FBI employee told Judge Leonie Brinkema that he acted out of a desire “to protect Director Mueller” from what Tolson believed were false allegations.

OH, IN THAT CASE NEVER MIND!  YOU'RE FREE TO GO, cuz when a Leftist/Democrat commits any crime, it's not serious as long as they have good intentions, right?

“This is actually a very serious offense,” Brinkema said. “You’re lucky"--before handing down the seven-DAY sentence.

"A very serious offense."  So serious you'll be in jail for...umm... for the rest of the week.

What sentence do you think a conservative would get if he hacked the email of an FBI employee, eh?

Two sets of laws, citizen.  And if you don't like it, tough.

Oh, the above story is from a leftist outfit, Politico.  So if anything it will gloss over any crimes by Democrats.
