Democrats introduce bill to form commission to "study" reparations; every Dem presidential candidate has promised to sign
Hey, citizen! With our national debt at 22 Trillion dollars, Medicare and Social Security slated to go bankrupt in a couple of years, and endless pleas for rebuilding highways, what's the BEST thing we could do for our economy?
Democrats have that one figured out: Give $800 billion to anyone who claims to be a descendant of slaves, as "reparations."
Yep. Dem Representative Sheila Jackson Lee has introduced a bill in the House calling for a government commission to examine the issue and make recommendations on "appropriate remedies." The bill already has 55 co-sponsors, and since Dems have a majority in the House, passage by the House is likely.
More important, ALL major Democrat presidential candidates have promised to sign any "reparations" bill that congress passes. So if the Dems win the White House and the senate next year, you'll be forced to pay part of your income as "reparations."
Cool, eh? And it's only fair that you should pay, citizen, cuz you were so eeeevil for owning slaves.
Wait, you say you never owned a single slave? Well, surely your parents owned slaves, right?
No? Granparents, then? No? Well, no matter. Forcing you to pay reparations is still fair because, reasons.
Besides, Sheila Jackson Lee and the Dem presidential candidates absolutely assure you that even though reparations will cost hundreds of billions, YOU won't actually be paying! Instead, "the federal government" will pay. And every liberal and Dem knows that when the federal gruberment pays, it doesn't cost anyone anything, since the government can simply print any amount of money needed, with no adverse consequence at all!
Cool, eh? I mean, look how well that worked for Venezuela! Their minimum wage is now up to something like sixty gazillion Bolivars a month. Of course two eggs cost a month's salary, but that's just because the U.S. military is stealing almost all the eggs in the country using invisible tanks with night vision!
Oddly, one black veteran of the Civil Rights movement doesn't think reparations are a good idea. Something about how giving people lots of cash for simply existing has...shall we say, unintended consequences.
