Photog for mainstream media admits pic and video of "starving polar bear caused by global warming" was...

Does the Lying Mainstream Media publish "fake news"?

O course the Media swear they're the sole source of truth and that anyone who claims they publish "fake news" is opposed to free speech, or some such bullshit.

Here's one example--admittedly fairly minor, but-- of how a respected Media outlet lied to promote a Democrat/socialist agenda:

A year ago, National Geographic--entirely pro-Democrat, pro-Left, anti-capitalist--published a heart-wrenching pic of an injured, starving polar bear, with the caption "This is what climate change looks like."

The inference they wanted you to draw was that this bear was starving due to "global warming."  The unexamined sub-text is "this poor bear is starving because of global warming climate change, caused by CO2, specifically CO2 emitted by human activity, specifically, burning fossil fuels."  And that this is virtually all America's fault cuz we use more fossil fuel per person than any other nation.

Got it?  So they want you to believe it's our fault that this poor, pitiful bear was starving.

National Geographic then uploaded a vid of the scene, which was viewed by over 2.5 billion people--more views than any other in the mag's history.

Now, a whole year after propagandizing millions of naive Americans with the video, National Geographic photographer Cristina Mittermeier has finally admitted--in a piece titled "Starving-Polar-Bear Photographer Recalls What Went Wrong,"in the mag's August issue--that the piece was a deception--"fake news," designed to win support for the idea that the planet is warming at a rate that's both unprecedented and catastrophic.

She admits that they had no idea whether the bear was starving because of global warming (which the Left has cunningly re-named "climate change" since there hasn't been any evidence of global warming for the last 20 years or so).

Just as a point of logic, if global warming was the reason for this bear's plight, all the other bears in the same area should also be starving.  Of course this point was carefully not mentioned, nor did they attempt to examine that question.  Because, Narrative.

Mittermeier admitted that the pics and video of the emaciated polar bear were meant to sound an alarm about global warming climate change, but then complains that the real problem is that people "took the image literally."

Perhaps people "took the image literally" because the graphic in the opening seconds of the video was, "This is what climate change looks like."

Um...how did you and your fellow leftists at the mag *intend* for people to interpret the image?  If you'd been worried that people might, y'know, "take it literally" you could have put in a single sentence with the caveat "We don't know why this bear was starving.  Could have something to do with the obvious injury to his right hind-leg, which would reduce his ability to catch prey."  Of course you didn't want to do that, because Narrative.

"We had lost control of the narrative," she says.

That innocuous phrase strikes me as chilling, since it implies that normally the media DO control the narrative.  Which, of course, they do.

She goes on to say that she and her fellow photogs "are on a mission to capture images that communicate the urgency of climate change."  Yep, Narrative.  And that this image was "a way to help people imagine what the future of climate change might look like."

"Perhaps we made a mistake in not telling the full story — that we were looking for a picture that foretold the future and that we didn’t know what had happened to this particular polar bear," she wrote.

But now that she's seen how she "lost control of the narrative," and that maybe it would have been more honest to tell "the full story" instead of attributing the bear's condition to global warming, she says she's learned an important lesson.

Hahahahahahaha!  Just kidding!  Leftists learning?  Not in this lifetime.  Instead she says she'd do it again if she had the chance.  It doesn't matter to her that the bear's condition wasn't due to global warming climate change, as long as the images won support for her cause--a goal she considers far more important than mere evenhandedness.

Wow, it's a total mystery why so many Americans don't trust the mainstream media, eh?.

President Trump has often blasted the Lying Mainstream Media for printing and broadcasting "fake news."  The Lying Media have responded by claiming that the charge is itself false, bleating that they--and they alone--print and broadcast truth, and that anyone who doesn't believe that is anti-first-amendment or something.

And the Media is totally okay with lying to advance Democrat/socialist policies, causes and candidates.
