Guy robs a store, tries to carjack a guy to escape. Then the fun starts.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Police say a man who tried to carjack two people was thwarted after the victims both pulled their own guns to defend themselves.

Jacksonville police officers arrested 36-year-old Christopher Raymond Hill, charging him with strong-arm robbery, carjacking with firearm or deadly weapon and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.

Detectives said the incident began when Hill robbed a Walmart liquor store and attempted to flee in the car he used to reach the store.  But witnesses said that car wouldn't start, so he pulled a knife and tried to carjack a nearby driver, cutting him on his arms and legs.

The victim pulled his gun out of the console and pointed it at Hill, reporting that Hill then pleaded  ‘Don’t shoot me’ and ran away.

Hill then jumped into the passenger seat of a woman’s car in a nearby drive-thru. Police said the woman got out, grabbed a pistol from her trunk and pointed at Hill, who again ran off.

Cops eventually found Hill, who decided surrending was a better choice than taking on armed cops with just a knife.  Hill told police, “The reason I was running and did this was because somebody was after me.”

So...two civilians were able to avoid being carjacked by pulling their own handguns.  Keep this in mind when a Democrat/socialist/"proggie" says he or she wants the government to ban private citizens from owning a handgun.
