Philadelphia's new, Soros-backed DA fires 31 assistants on 4th day in office

Wanna see the future?

It's not that hard.  Some things are as easy to predict as night following day.  You just have to know what event leads to what sort of result.

For example:  Last year a liberal civil-rights attorney named Larry Krasner announced his candidacy for District Attorney in Philly.  His main pitch was that the legal system was way too hard on minorities charged with crimes.  For one thing, he claimed the whole system of posting bail was unfair, since many poor perps couldn't afford to post, but the well-to-do could.  He promised to greatly reduce "cash bail."

I suspect this phrase was carefully chosen:  many voters would think he meant he would be less likely to let people charged with heinous crimes bond out of jail.  But what he really meant was the same policy pushed by Obama's "Just Us" department, of letting poor killers out with no cash bail at all--to fix the unfairness, see?

Unless you're a person of color or a social justice snowflake or a dumb liberal, this probably strikes you as a dumb idea, since many really, really bad killers would (and do) take advantage of that time out to threaten or kill witnesses.

The next clue was that last April--just three weeks before the May 16 primary--a group calling itself Philadelphia Justice and Public Safety filed a "political committee registration statement."  Interestingly, a national group calling itself "Justice & Safety PAC" is funded by George Soros.  And the treasurer of the national group turns out to hold the same position in the Philly group.  And the two groups have the same law firm--Perkins Coie--that Soros-backed political action committees have used in other states.

As as a political action committee, the group wasn't subject to the city's legal limits on spending, as long as it didn't "coordinate efforts with any candidate or campaign."  And of course if any charge of "coordinating efforts" with a candidate was ever made, any decision on that question would be made long after the election, and no one can doubt how that decision would go.

The next day a media buyer, not previously affiliated with any of the campaigns for district attorney, said Philadelphia Justice and Public Safety had spent $280,000 in campaign commercials on broadcast and cable television channels in the city for a week, starting the next day.

Why the hell would anyone spend $280,000 in an election for a frickin' District Attorney?

I know you'll all be totally surprised to learn that the "Justice and Public Safety" group's ads backed...Larry Krasner.  Who went on to win the primary and then the general election.  He took office five days ago.

Interestingly, when Krasner was asked about the group and its media plans, he called the filing “interesting news” and said he had not heard about it until a call from a reporter.

Last February, when Philly papers first reported on Soros’ interest in the race, they asked Krasner if he had been interviewed by representatives from “national progressive groups,” naming one person who was treasurer for the national Soros group.  Krasner declined to say.

But two months later Krasner's campaign acknowledged that he had indeed been interviewed by the Soros rep.  But don't worry, citizen:  everything is, like, totally transparent!  Totally on the up and up.

Fast-forward to yesterday--Krasner's 4th day after taking office.  He fired 31 assistant DA's, including all the ones who were tough on crime.  One of those fired said he had a homicide trial scheduled to start Monday.  He was at his desk working Friday when a human resources employee told him he'd been fired, he said.

The prosecutor, who had won dozens of murder convictions during his career, said he was given no explanation.  He asked that he be allowed to stay until the murder trial scheduled to start 3 days later was finished but was told no, he said.  He said his request to speak to Krasner on that matter was also denied.

Now:  Why would George Soros--a man known to destabilize entire nations--be interested enough in a DA race in a shit-hole city like Philly to spend $280,000 to support the most soft-on-crime candidate?

Keep going:  What happens to crime rates when a city's DA vows that he'll let those charged with the worst crimes be released without having to post any bail?

See?  Told ya it wasn't hard to predict the future.

Bonus question:  Who benefits when crime skyrockets in an American city?

Bonus #2:  Who benefits when a U.S. Attorney-general (looking at you, Loretta Lynch and Eric Holder) conspires to not indict obvious criminals?
