Berkeley faculty implies Constitution doesn't protect speech that "disrupts the university's mission"

Back in the ancient days, universities encouraged free speech.  Sadly, the United States has fallen far from those glory days:

Faculty members at UC Berkeley have written a letter calling for a campus-wide boycott of all classes to protest the visits of conservative speakers to the campus.  The letter acknowledged that the university is "bound by the Constitution to allow all viewpoints on campus," but added
However, there are forms of speech that are not protected under the First Amendment," the letter said. "These include speech that presents imminent physical danger and speech that disrupts the university's mission to educate."
Uh, what??   These overpaid idiots think speech that "disrupts the university's mission to educate" isn't allowed by the Constitution's first amendment??  What a crock.  Nothing in the Constitution allows free speech to be infringed under that excuse.  They just lied, period.

But of course, the precious snowflakes have only the haziest idea of what the Constitution actually says.

In their supreme arrogance, the Left decrees goals or principles -- such as the above, totally fabricated, limit on free speech -- which they then claim is "settled."  Within days every good Leftist knows about the new goal or demand and will slavishly push to get everyone else to submit.

In a style totally familiar to former citizens of communist regimes, the Left presents the new goal using the "bandwagon technique," making it seem as though all decent, rational, right-thinking citizens have already agreed on it.  The telltales are the abundant use of expressions like "undeniably...," "unquestionably...," "as everyone knows...," "all decent people agree ..."

Recently we've seen new equivalents, like "The science is settled" and "This is not who we are."  All these phrases are designed to push listeners to accept as a given what would otherwise have to be proven.  If listeners believe the Left's assertion represents a consensus, the natural human desire to be accepted by peers--to be a valued member of the group--makes them far more willing to accept whatever goal the Left is pushing.
