Dems crow "We have a deal" on $1.2 TRILLION infra--but that "deal" brings $4.2 TRILLION in socialist pork
Infrastructure--bridges, rail lines, freeways, airports. Congresscritters love infrastructure bills, cuz it let's 'em bring a few billion dollars to their state, look good to their constituents and get re-elected.
So Dem senate leader Chuck Schumer and house speaker Nancy Pelosi have been pushing hard to pass a so-called "infrastructure bill." But since "infrastructure" is a very broad term, the Dems cunningly decided they could load a bill the Media calls "infrastructure" with billions of dollars for, say, free child care, extra paid leave, and what the Democrats coyly call "climate action."
Problem was, for a bill to pass it has to pass the senate, and the senate has always had a thing called the filibuster. If you just arrived in this country, the filibuster rule requires that most bills need 60 votes to pass. Which means the Dems would need ten Republican votes to end a filibuster. So there was hope that the Repubs could keep the Democrats--who control both chambers of congress and the faux presidency--from killing the country too brutally.
But Democrat congresscreeps, with the help of Slow Joe, have a cunning plan to pass a bill with every one of the Democrats' "social pork" projects, without needing a single Republican vote. That is, they've found a way around the filibuster.
They've already got this all set up, but the Media won't tell you it's already wired because the Media doesn't want to give conservatives time to organize any opposition. But it will happen, as I'll explain below. It'll take at least three weeks for the Dems to pull it off but I'm predicting it now, and I'll show you how it'll happen. You need to understand how cunningly the Democrats plot to get ghastly social programs passed, and how they've maneuvered to evade the filibuster, which is the only means the minority party has to keep really terrible bills from passing.
So...today Biden and the Dems announced that they'd reached a deal on a $1.2 TRILLION "bipartisan" infrastructure package. Because this bill wasn't too loaded with pork, Republicans agreed to vote for it. But now watch as the trick starts:
Biden has been bloviating about "infrastructure" spending for months, so you'd think he'd sign this bill into law right away, eh? But unexpectedly, he said he would NOT sign this bill into law unless it was passed "in tandem" with a separate, far larger ($4.2 TRILLION) bill--which is the one that contains all the wasteful, socialist, vote-buying programs--things the Democrats coyly call "human infrastructure"-- that normally couldn't pass without ten GOP votes.
Wait...Biden's own party manages to negotiate a deal the Repubs will support, and Biden says he WON'T sign the bill "unless"...? That's...odd. So how do the Dems plan to get ten GOP votes for this far larger, pork-laden "social goodies" bill?
Meet Step 2, citizen: there's a thing called "budget reconciliation." It can only be used with bills that have some vague connection to government spending ("the budget"), and it can only be used once per session of congress. But it's unbelievably useful--because by rule, filibusters aren't allowed on bills that the ruling party designates as reconciliation bills.
So keeping in mind that ALL congresscreeps love to get those faaabulous billions of dollars in infrastructure bills, the Dems can now dangle a carrot in front of the Republicans: To get the billions in spending for pet road, bridge and airport projects they have to pass the far larger, pork-filled socialist bill. And because the Dems are willing to invoke the once-per-session nuclear weapon, the second bill can't be filibustered!
It's brilliant.
Biden said he would work with Pelosi and Schumer to make sure that *both* the bipartisan deal and the reconciliation bill moved through congress quickly. Which is interesting cuz the president can't do jack-shit to move things thru congress. So it's just word salad.
Interestingly, less than half of the $1.2 TRILLION in the "smaller" bill--supposedly for actual infrastructure as opposed to bullshit socialist programs--is actually planned to be spent on highways, rail networks, bridges and mass transit. (Exact figure is $579 billion.) Gosh, what do you suppose the remaining $621 BILLION will be spent on, eh?
If you've got a few hours to spare you should be able to wade thru the thousand pages of bullshit in the bill to find out. Cuz the Dems and the Media sure as hell aren't saying. Probably be given to big Democrat states for pork projects.
GOP Sen. Rob Portman eagerly swallowed the bait, calling the bill "a good compromise that's going to help the American people." Portman added that the $1.2 TRILLION will be spent "without new taxes."
Seriously. Just major inflation, which means in two years most things you need will cost three or four times what they cost today. But at least no new taxes, eh?
Democratic congressional "leaders" have insisted that they won't pass any deal that doesn't fund all the pork projects they demand, which include what they cunningly call "investments" in child care, paid leave and "climate action." So they're being very clear about how they plan to get what they want.
Pelosi said she won't let the House a vote on the "real" infrastructure bill until the Senate passes the pork-laden $4.2 TRILLION bill--the one Schumer has termed the budget reconciliation bill.
The socialists at NBC coyly mislead readers by saying "This would require the votes of all 50 Democratic members of the chamber," as if this would be a highly unlikely event. This of course is nonsense, but the socialists carefully avoid explaining the far more crucial part: that by calling it a "reconciliation bill" it blocks Republicans from invoking the filibuster.
You may have heard that the Dems were considering a vote to eliminate the filibuster. They knew their base would love that, since it would totally cement Dem control, but worried that independents might see the move for what it was and vote Republican in the mid-terms. Also, the Dems worried that two Dem senators had threatened to vote against killing the filibuster.
But this brilliant new move blocks the filibuster on this huge ($4.2 TRILLION) socialist pork extravaganza--assuring its passage--without making the Dems risk losing votes in 2022 by eliminating the filibuster altogether.
And the only way for the Repubs to stop the huge pork-laden bill is by filibustering the $1.2 Trillion "true" infrastructure bill, which they're unwilling to do. And of course even if the GOP wins control of both chambers in 2022, once any federal socialist giveaway program starts, it's impossible to repeal.
NBC wraps up its propaganda piece like this: "Many *progressive* lawmakers [ah] have expressed openness to backing an infrastructure agreement *as long as it is linked to advancement of a Democrats-only multi-trillion dollar bill.* And for moderate Republicans, it is a rare opportunity to find common ground with the White House."
Ah, an "opportunity," y'say. Oh yeah, by all means, give us the "opportunity" to find "common ground with the White House." Is it possible to HAVE common ground with socialist, anti-American, election-stealing, lying rat-bastards?
Oh, and SchumerPelosi have found yet another way to win 11 million more votes, while stoking vast national debt, firing inflatioin and bringing the U.S. a step closer to having the gruberment run ALL health care: They want to lower the eligibility age for Medicare from 65 to 60--or possibly even 55. Lowering the age to 60 would add 11.7 million people to Medicare.
See, Medicare was forecast to go broke in 5 years, due to all the unnecessary bullshit the dems have forced Medicare--the government--to pay for. So you'd think the logical move to SAVE the program would be to NOT pay for things like sex-change operations, eh?
I can see you don't understand what's happening: To Dems, what matters isn't the long-term survival of the United States but is how intensely the Dems can signal their great virtue to other elites, by supporting bullshit like forcing taxpayers to pay for sex-change surgery. So to Democrats, expanding Medicare by 11.7 million people--while guaranteed to bankrupt the system faster--is just wonderful.
And this is just ONE of the vote-bribing socialist programs SchumerPelosi are planning to roll into the "reconciliation bill"--the one that they don't need a single GOP vote to pass, since the rules say you can't filibuster a bill that Schumer RULES is a "budget reconciliation bill."
This just keeps getting worse and worse.
