Harvard will now offer remedial math to students. Cuz..."equity," citizen.

Democrats: *"Trump is eeevil! By contrast, everything *we're doing* is perfectly normal!"

And to prove that point: Harvard U has announced it will offer *high-school-level math courses* to *some* of its students.

Wait...I thought only the best and brightest were accepted at Hahvahd!  If so, why would Hahvahd feel the need to offer a class in remedial maff, eh?

Hahvahd ain't sayin' nuffin'.

For years, critics of DEI (de-facto racial quotas) have accused Harvard of having two sets of admissions standards, with a lower set for "favored groups" to achieve “equity.” Hahvahd strongly denied those allegations, but also strongly fought all efforts to disclose data on its admissions.

When that data was ultimately revealed, it showed sharp differences in test scores, based on race. The differences led to an historic 2023 court decision (Students for Fair Admissions v. Harvard, 600 U.S. 181) barring the use of race in college admissions.

But determined university rulers, politicians and corporate CEOs can easily find a way around any silly court decision, eh?  And Hahvahd's workaround was to end the use of the SAT test.  See?

Other university systems like the University of California did the same--because without standardized test scores it's impossible for plaintiffs to prove the university has lower standards for admitting "favored groups."

Wokiez win again, eh?  As they always do.

Hahvahd's recent (quiet) announcement that they'd offer highschool math courses shows the totally predictable result of accepting unqualified applicants.  And really, what difference does it make, eh?

Yes, the U hires a few new profs to teach remedial math, but for an entity with a $50 BILLION endowment that's a rounding error in the fifth decimal place.

Harvard’s adminishits were ready with an excuse: the new "director of introductory math" said the reason for the new remedial course was "the covid pandemic."

One could easily determine if this "explanation" was bullshit by walking into one of the remedial classes.  But Hahvahd won't let any non-student do that.  And white students know not to try it, cuz duh wokiez would call that a "hate crime."  At the very least they'd cancel your DEI card.

For 300 years Harvard accepted only the brightest applicants.  But in the last 20 years the woke faculty and administrators have changed that...for favored groups.

The woke faculty agrees with people like Ibram X. Kendi that standardized tests were racist, designed to legally exclude "black and brown bodies" from prestigious schools.”  So this is their fix.

Ironically, standardized test scores have been found to be the best predictor of success in college.

The wokiez didn't care: What matters to them is that minorities are admitted each year in the same percentage as their percentage of the entire population.


Janet Napolitano is chancellor of the huge University of California system.  In 2017 or so, she named a group of distinguished professors to study whether the U-Cal system should scrap standardized tests.

That panel came to the same conclusion as other universities years earlier, that SAT scores were the best predictor of success in college and thus should be retained.

The woke Napolitano overrode that recommendation.  So here we are.  But don't worry, citizen: The best and the brightest will still rise to the top.  They'll just be chosen by the Media and the people who run the Democrat party.
