Socialist prezzy of Colombia refuses to allow deportation flights to land; Trump imposes 25% tariffs

From president Trump at 1:28 pm today (Jan. 26):

I was just informed that two repatriation flights from the United States, with a large number of illegal (Colombian nationals), were not allowed to land in Colombia. This order was given by Colombia’s Socialist President Gustavo Petro, who is already very unpopular amongst his people.

Petro’s denial of these flights has jeopardized the national security and safety of the United States, so I have directed my Administration to immediately take the following urgent and decisive retaliatory measures:

-Emergency 25% tariffs on all goods coming into the United States. In one week, the 25% tariffs will be raised to 50%.

-A travel ban and immediate visa revocations on Colombian government officials, and all Allies and Supporters.

-Visa sanctions on all party members, family members, and supporters of the Colombian government.

-Enhanced Customs and Border Protection inspections of all Colombian nationals and cargo

-IEEPA Treasury, Banking and Financial Sanctions to be fully imposed.

These measures are just the beginning. We will not allow the Colombian government to violate its legal obligations with regard to the acceptance and return of the Criminals they forced into the United States!

Wow, talk about fast response!  It'll be interesting to see what the Colombian president will do.

It's also interesting that NBC bleated that since Colombia exports oil, coffee and flowers to the U.S., the tariffs will make those things cost way more--by NBC's "logic" initially 25%, then 50% more.  That's goofy Mainstream Media screaming about nothing:

Oil is an "international commodity," meaning it's like aspirin.  So rather than force their customers to pay more for dat special Colombian oil (that's a joke; it's not), U.S. companies will buy oil from another country.  And Colombia will export its oil to non-U.S. buyers.  No one will notice a difference.

Same with coffee: U.S. stops buying from Colombia, buys elsewhere, Colombia sells elsewhere, and the net effect is virtually zero.

Now flowers: I have a really soft spot in my heart for flowers, and Colombia does export a lot of 'em to the U.S.  But if a six-dollar bouquet a guy gives to his wife or girlfriend once a month or so jumps to $7.50 or even nine bucks, I think we can deal with that.

And if we had to get flowers from another country, that's fine too.  It's all worth it to send socialist shithead pols a message: when you cunningly send your criminals here, and a U.S. president with balls sends 'em back, if you refuse to take 'em back it'll cost ya.  A lot.
