Many conservatives say the CR is dead. I think they're wrong--and being used

I think everyone who believes the CR--written by Chuck Schumer and agreed to by RINO Mike Johnson--is dead, is totally naive. Let me explain:

Notice that the members on TV saying it's dead are mostly low-level and conservative, like Luna.  The senior GOP want them gone, cuz they make it harder for the traitors.  So the senior leaders told 'em the thing was dead, and then after the thing passes (with no substantive changes) the media--by pre-arrangement--will blame the low-level members for "raising false hopes" instead of blaming the unnamed senior traitors who falsely told the lower-ranking members the CR was dead--but of course have no way to prove that.

Have y'all never seen Charlie Brown trying to kick the football?  The RINOs always cave rather than being blamed for "shutting down the govt just before Christmas!"  And when it becomes clear that no clean CR can pass, the GOP will vote to pass the current piece of shit.

Cory Genelin nailed it:  In the end, one or two of the most egregious parts of the CR will be withdrawn, but nothing the Dems really want.  Everything the Dems really want will be in the final version.

In a classic power-negotiation tactic, the Dems put most outrageous demands in as sacrificial pawns, so GOP congresswhores can say "We couldn't shut down the govt right before (xxx) so we forced the Dems to take out the worst parts, and we passed an improved bill, not the one you're mad about."

"So actually we SAVED you!  You should be thanking us for ouah hard work for you!"

Here’s how Speaker Johnson will play it:

First he'll claim he totally agrees with the concerns conservatives are raising, and that he totally understands, but that he had to have a bill the Dem-ruled senate would pass.

Then he'll say he really wanted to get a better CR, but congress was SO busy trying to get aid to the flood victims that there just wasn't enough time.  He'll promise that he'll fight the actual fight next time.  Of course that's what he always says, and he gets away with it because the Mainstream Media lets him.

He'll give a dozen interviews to the Democrat-fellating Mainstream Media, in which the (leftist) interviewers will praise his "statesmanship, pragmatism and willingness to compromise with Dems."  And half of GOP voters will buy it, simply because the talking-head said it.

But when the next shutdown is threatened he'll cave again--using the same excuses.  He'll always do what the uniparty wants, because he's on their team.

We went through this with spending fights with him twice already (spring and again in the fall and now here we are again)

We went through this with him with the FBI lying to get FISA warrants to spy on Americans.  He's a RINO plant.

We also went through this with more aid to Ukraine in the summer.  "No more aid" became "well, just one more time."

As I write this it's 4:45 eastern time on December 19th.  Let's see if I'm right.
