When U.K. pols bowed to the Warmies and ORDERED "net zero emissions," what happened?

The politicians you elect don't "represent" you, but instead rule you.  Almost all have three clear defects:  They're stupid, greedy, and don't care if ordinary citizens have to pay more for things like heating and electricity.

Since the costs of those two things are trivial to them, it never crosses their minds that "ordinary" Americans might not consider those costs trivial at all.

I've been telling you for years now that the global warming con was designed to cripple western economies while having zero measurable benefit.  Now someone has crunched those numbers.

Great Britain is farther down the road to socialism and tyranny than we are, so when the Warmies began wailing about Global Warming, virtue-signaling U.K. pols eagerly jumped on the bandwagon.  Sixteen years ago they passed a law ordering an 80% decrease in CO2 emissions.

I know you'll be shocked to learn that an 80% cut wasn't enough to satisfy the Left, so five years ago the gruberment of the U.K. ordered NO net CO2 emissions–-“net zero.”

If you're a young American you're like, "Yeah!  Great!"  But that's because you probably don't know anything about economics.  The results have been catastrophic:  British energy prices have skyrocketed, and ordinary Brits--their equivalent of "deplorables" here--are now concerned with how to afford those  huge price increases.

So how much have prices risen?  Twenty percent?  You wish:  In 2022 U.K. utilities charged over eight times more than Americans pay for electricity generated from coal--$228 per megawatt hour (MWh) vs. $27 per MWh for Americans.  In the same year British gas suppliers charged over four times more per MWh-equivalent for natural gas than here--$251 in the U.K. vs. $61 here.

Greenies keep bleating--and the Media keeps mindlessly repeating--that electricity from "renewable sources" like wind and solar costs no more than from natural gas and coal.  No.  That's a brazen lie.

Want proof?  Consider that huge windfarm projects in Nebraska, Colorado, offshore Connecticut, New York and New Jersey were all scrapped last year, even after their developers raked in millions of federal dollars in tax credits and loans.

Why were those projects scrapped?  Because the developers had cunningly told the feds and states that their electricity would cost little more than that from conventional sources.  They had to say that to the pols to get the huge tax credits.  But when they predictably went back to the states to re-negotiate the terms to reflect their real (far higher) costs, and the states declined, the developers bailed out.  

It was the equivalent of a stock scam.

Solar fared no better:  Over 100 solar companies went bankrupt, and solar projects from California to Florida were cancelled.

Despite the hard economic reality, the Left continues to push for more renewable-energy boondoggles.  Billionaires support the Left's demands because it's a way to virtue-signal--and to reap millions in tax credits.

What few understand is that going to a high percentage of wind and solar is designed to cripple western economies.  And only western economies.

The Sierra Club has campaigns called “Beyond Coal” and “Beyond Carbon,” with the goal of closing every coal-fired power plant in the U.S. by 2030.  And with the help of the Obama/biden/garland regime and Democrats, they've succeeded in shutting down nearly two-thirds of the coal plants the country had 20 years ago.

With leftist activists running every government agency, supported by stupid politicians, the Media and the rich, the plans seem certain to succeed in their job-killing, family-harming efforts.

But don't worry, citizen: Just as the Democrats forced you to cover the cost of repaying student loans for others even if you didn't go to college yourself (it's a Democrat idea of fairness), they'll make you pay for the gas and electricity needed by low-income people and illegal aliens, so they won't suffer.

And when you're paying four to eight times more for utilities than now, don't think of it as a burden, citizen.  Think of it as being good for you: You'll eat less, drive less, fly less, and can feel virtuous about it.

And after all, isn't feeling virtuous what the Left says we should prize?
