The "new right" realizes it's time to start playing by the Left's rules

Conservatives in the U.S. have always taken pride in allowing the left to use even illegal means to advance their sick, twisted, anti-American agenda, so long as we on the right unilaterally crippled ourselves by upholding our "norms and principles" in our inevitable defeats.

But now there's a new kind of thinking on the right--one that believes in fighting back and playing by whatever rules the Left is actually playing by.

This may well be a ruse, cuz it sounds too reasonable to be true, but let's play along.

SO...since wind energy is intermittent at best, and solar can't work at night, it's absolutely crucial to save the oil, gas and coal industries from the eco-communists who are determined to kill off all three.

So why not adopt an idea from the Leftist playbook: If Democrat-ruled states can declare themselves "sanctuary cities" that refuse to cooperate in enforcing valid federal immigration law (i.e. they help illegals escape without notifying ICE, even if the illegal has a "removal order"), why not encourage conservative states to declare themselves sanctuary states for...wait for it...*voting*?

When Trump was president, and sought to remove fed funds from states that refused to cooperate with the feds to enforce federal law, the courts quickly bleated "Yew cain't do dat!"  Meaning the feds could NOT, by LAW, force states to comply.

This struck rational people as beyond stupid.  There's a clause in the U.S. Constitution called the "supremacy clause" that says if a federal law disagrees with a state law, the federal law prevails.  But *in this case only,* the courts junked that principle.

So the courts have now accepted that “sanctuary cities and states” are legal, accepted as settled law, even when those laws defy federal law!

Hey, we can live with that, snowflakes!

So if “sanctuary states” for illegal aliens allow states to defy federal immigration laws, and the same for marijuana, then the next generation of conservative leaders on the right needs to start proclaiming their states to be “election sanctuaries.”

And why not apply the same treatment to crippling Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) rules, along with the rest of the stunning array of dumb fed rules, eh?

Of course the left will howl, scream, and sue when the first governor has the courage to buck nonsensical federal rules. But if Democrats love state’s rights when it comes to illegal immigration or weed, they should love them just as much when a governor authorizes for new pipelines or coal-fired power plants.
