Drunk illegal strikes pedestrian, drives 38 miles with the body in right seat. Doesn't notice.

Last night near Dallas a drunk illegal immigrant--later identified as "Nestor Joel Lujan Flores"--struck a pedestrian.  Flores was travelling so fast that the body of the man he struck smashed through the windshield of the car and landed in the passenger seat.  

Lujan Flores didn't bother to stop.  Instead, seemingly unfazed by his unexpected passenger, he drove 38 more miles to a fast-food restaurant with the victim’s dead body in the right seat.

Apparently someone at the restaurant thought a smashed windshield with a body in the right seat was a bit...odd, even for Dallas, and called the cops.  When an officer arrived he found Lujan Flores's car with front end and windshield damage, and a dead human body in the front passenger seat, and arrested the driver.

Asked to explain the body in his passenger seat, Flores told cops he believed he'd struck an animal, so he continued to drive and didn't bother notifying police.  The story doesn't say whether cops asked Lujan Flores if he ever noticed the smashed windshield or the dead man in his passenger seat, or how he squared that with his story about hitting an animal.

Tellingly, Flores was previously arrested in 2020 in Plano for driving while intoxicated. In 2021 he was convicted of the same charge in Collin County.  No word on whether those were the same offense, nor on why the guy still had a driver's license.
